HID location smart building service for real time people, property and security information effortlessly. HID service not only include for infrastructure organizations but also to hospitality and health care services.
I do like the brand recognition that they have. HID has been in the market for a long time and people have likely heard or seen their products before so you know they have been in the industry for a long time and are not a fly-by-night company looking to make a quick buck. I do like the simplicity HID has to manage their key FOBs so you can have hundreds in your environment but can manage and keep the internal security codes safe no matter where the devices are. HID is also very simple to roll out as you just put in the electronic locks by the doors, hand out the key FOBs and off you go. You don't have to be a tech guru in order to use this.
Availability of Sales & Support team is phenomenal. Sales & Engineering team willingness to adjust to our needs in a challenging vertical.
HID Location services should improve its vendor response mechanisms and end to end training material to reduce learning effort.
I am not a fan of HID's expensive pricing. They are not cheap and I know their competitors offer a version that is a fraction of the cost. HID will say they are using the latest cutting edge technology but they do spend a lot in marketing so I am sure that is why their pricing structure is what it is. HID also doesn't have a way to buy their product that is not in bulk. You must buy HID products in QTY's of 50, 100, 200, etc. You cannot just add on a random number which leads to buying more products than you really use and this can lead to budget waste. HID doesn't do a good job staying on government contracts so if you need to procure HID on a contract vehicle, this will be a challenge. They don't have a ton of options to be on a contract which leads to their pricing being higher than their competiton.
Challenges with some of our internal views - that the product is out of date or too expensive. (not HID's problem)

Great product to enhance the security of our facility. Additionally, easily scalable as our employee count and facility grow in tandem. HID is a good intro level type tool for physical location devices and the like as it has been around for a while but they are not the best option out there. HID has simple to use products but they are rarely turnkey when you actually go to use it.
