Human Bot Defender managed service is very effective in identifying and blocking bot activity, as well as reducing false positives. It even helps us to mitigate DDoS attacks in some occasions by blocking requests that bypass our primary anti-DDoS solution. The product allows us to create custom rules, which we are able to update via API to facilitate the management of lists like those that include IP addresses. It also has many known bots categorized to easily indicate if you want to allow or block them. It is very easy to onboard users and grant them access to the dashboards, like developers that can have a look at the statistics of their service. Human is constantly evolving the product to adapt to new threats and technologies and it is proving very useful to identify AI traffic.
The most valuable aspect of this service is their support team. They provide significant assistance in analyzing, implementing and tuning detections whenever malicious traffic is identified. As previously mentioned, the platform itself functions as a black box.
The high, accurate detection rate for the bots. It would mitigate the majority of our bot traffic without any extra work.
The dashboard's performance can be sluggish at times, and it currently provides access to data from only the past 2 weeks. The filters in the dashboard could be improved to allow more flexibility.
1. Lack of Transparency: The system acts as a black box regarding its detectors, providing little visibility into how they function. 2. Limited Customization: There is minimal room for manual adjustment. While policy rules can be created, achieving optimal results often requires contacting support to up further detections. 3. Notification Issues: Changes to bot indicators are frequent, but there is no proactive notification system. Users are forced to manually check the detection changes tab to stay informed.
Not really a dislike but the UI does have a few confusing elements that could use some work but nothing that's a real usability problem.
