Market Presence: Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management, Hardware Asset Management Tools

Overview

Product Information on Lansweeper

Updated 10th March 2026

What is Lansweeper?

Lansweeper helps organizations see, understand, and make confident decisions about their technology estate across IT, OT, IoT, and Cloud. Lansweeper automatically discovers and inventories every asset: hardware, software, and user, then connects that data to insights about usage, lifecycle, and risk. This is to create what the vendor describes as Cyber Asset Intelligence: a trusted foundation of knowledge that turns raw inventory data into clear, actionable understanding.

Lansweeper Pricing

Lansweeper software uses a subscription-based pricing model structured around the number of assets managed, with different tiers available to support varying levels of inventory size and feature access. The software offers annual billing plans, and pricing scales based on the asset count, providing access to asset discovery, management, and various integrations according to the selected plan.

“Strong asset visibility and inventory tracking, with best results when governance is defined early”

4.0
Mar 19, 2026
Our overall experience with Lansweeper has been positive. The platform is useful for gaining better visibility into hardware and software assets across the environment, and it helps reduce the manual efforts involved in tracking inventory and system details. What worked well for us was the breadth of asset discovery, the centralized view of devices, and the ability to improve internal awareness of what is deployed across the organization. Where it can take more effort is in fine-tuning coverage, keeping data clean, and aligning the tool with internal processes and reporting expectations.

1. Strong asset discovery capabilities that help create a more complete picture of devices and installed software. 2. Centralized inventory visibility, which makes day-to-day tracking and review easier. 3. Useful reporting and audit support for IT asset management and internal review needs. 4. Helps reduce manual spreadsheet-based tracking and improve operational efficiency.

Like

One of Lansweeper's strongest features is its agentless discovery capability. It allows us to quickly identify devices across the network without requiring heavy deployment efforts. The scanning engine is highly effective at capturing detailed hardware and software information, which has significantly improved our asset accuracy and reduced manual tracking. The reporting and dashboard capabilities are another highlight. There are many out of the box reports that cover common cases like warranty tracking, software usage, and security risks. You can customize repots which provides flexibility when tailoring outputs to business or audit requirements.

Like

Love it's a single source of truth for all our technology assets, and delivers comprehensive network visibility and actionable insights, it automates tasks, and enhances collaboration, and drives cost efficiency to help us make smarter IT decisions.

Dislike

1. Data quality depends heavily on proper configuration and ongoing maintenance, so results are only as good as the discovery coverage. 2. Some reporting and workflow expectations may require additional tuning to match internal requirements. 3. The platform is a strong one for visibility, but getting maximum value still depends on process discipline and ownership inside the organization. 4. There can be a learning curve for teams that want to move beyond basic inventory use into more advanced usage.

Dislike

-UI could benefit from modernization -Advanced reporting requires SQL knowledge -Limited native integrations for complex environments -some setup tuning needed for optimal performance.

Dislike

The setup took some time, the reporting tools could be easier to use, and sometimes the gui lags.
