It has been an unbelievable asset to our organization from the early days it was adopted by one person to digitize records in our Agency, and we have seen it evolve to provide us more and more tools and capabilities that power our tools to free up more time for our mission. We have an incredible base of citizen developers embedded in various programs who understand the business and can build readily and quickly to create better tools for the public, internal customers, and agency staff. We have been able to automate invoice processes and achieve compliance with data collection and flow requirements under federal regulations by using our own ingenuity and a wealth of resources Laserfiche and the participating community on Laserfiche Answers and other user forums provides. One of the things I love the most is how much Laserfiche supports and nurtures a creative and ambitious community who are willing to share and learn from one another. If you can dream it, you can build it, and Laserfiche embraces and celebrates that.
The GUI is very nice to work in, there's extensive documentation and there's a different integration options available.
The suite of product has made a night-and-day change to efficient processes, from build to roll-out, and through ongoing use day-to-day. It is as complex as we want it to be - simple process automation, or full integration with all of our other systems either via automation and workflows, API connectivity, or even custom scripts.
Some tools that our organization found useful were deprecated or not supported as strongly, and we sometimes did not have an ideal alternative. For example, an easy to use tool for compressing large image pages/files (Photo Docs) were deprecated that didn't leave us a good alternative for reducing storage for some large or complex files already in the repository. Also, the trend to Web Client as it's become promoted over the Windows Client -- which is more ideal and intuitive for our users who process a lot of documents -- has posed decision and training challenges. Web Client does not offer user-prompted OCR or image page generation, which leaves us trying to figure out how to guide and train our users (on which Client). We leverage the DCC as a time-saving resource for files in batches, but it is not as ideal for large plan sheets or large format maps (it hangs up and causes processing failures), which many programs in our Department work with. Also, the DCC monitoring interface has limited information / isn't as easy to use to troubleshoot problems with batch image generation and has a bug that stalls the queue when it hits a certain ID sequence and requires our Hosting Vendor to intervene / reset so our queue refreshes.
The API is very slow. for a cloud product thats honestly very disappointing. 1 req/ sec is slow
1) Limitations of programming in a low-code-no-code environment - JavaScript is a bit more complicated than it needs to be. 2) No ability yet to build or administer workflows in-browser - only review. The desktop application is a little dated.

Regular, well-thought-out updates, great communication with the userbase, plenty of training and support. Our integration has been overseen and managed by our service provider, and their ongoing support and knowledge of the product has aided greatly in the seamless transition to automated document management and workflows.

Great program that can solve many business processes. Laserfiche is not your out of the box program that only does one thing. From being able to simply scan, store document, and retrieve documents to a complex workflow process were a document that needs multiple approvals, Laserfiche is the product for you.
