Quick Fields tool, along with the workflow, makes scanning payment packets for the Business Office so efficient with very few key strokes since it finds the check number, queries the payment file, populates the metadata key fields, then renames and moves the documents to vendor folders automatically. The Import Agent, along with the workflow, allows our Student Services and Registrars to easily scan student documents into Student Folders. The OCR performed allows for better searching capabilities outside of key fields.

The best features of Laserfiche are the form submission process which makes uploading documents and storing them in the correct place easy. The tagging structure and automatic metadata as part of this process is also great and will make records more searchable and data easily accessible. In addition, the AI chatbot is an extremely helpful tool that makes searching various documents efficient and quick.

Prior to the most recent upgrade, there were complaints of slowness, which have been resolved with our new three-server setup.

While Laserfiche is a very robust system, it is not a platform that can be implemented and deployed with solely internal resources of a records manager. An outside consultant was necessary and the framework build has been ongoing. Further, workflow builds or changes will require outside assistance, unless an internal IT source can be a dedicated resource.
