FAVORABLE

“Fact Sheets and Methodology Effective for Power Plant, Less Predictive for Fasteners”

The product is good and robust in its architecture. We have faced challenges while planning for a stainless steel plant for our fasteners division where the product outcomes are different types depending on the machine operations. We have successfully implemented it in our power plant where the fact sheets are few as compared to the fastener division. So the methodology which we were following earlier matches exactly with that suggested by SAP LeanIX SAAS application at the cloud level.

Used to listen. SAP is not that responsive. Support has been declining.

A good starting point for bringing transparency into our application landscape, even early after implementation.

We introduced LeanIX about six months ago to bring more structure into our application landscape. Before that, most of our architecture information was spread across different documents and spreadsheets, which made it difficult to keep things consistent and up to date. Even in this relatively short time, LeanIX has helped is get a clearer overview of our systems and how they are connected. We are still in the process of building up the data, but it already makes discussions around applications and dependencies much easier, especially when working across teams.

Overall, my experience with LeanIX has been very positive. The application provides a clear and structured view of the whole enterprise architecture and significantly improves transparency across the application landscape as well as the business view.

    User-friendly and flexible EAM tool

    5.0

An excellent product for enterprise architecture management. Thanks to its high UX/UI usability, the system is very easy to use, even for inexperienced and occasional users. Modeling is very simple and flexible, Excel uploads and downloads enable easy bulk changes, and surveys help to quickly gather application information from the application owners. In contrast to the simple, flexible SaaS solution, commercial discussions are more complex. Standard support is good even in the basic version; a dedicated Customer Success Manager helps with the successful implementation of LeanIX and actively supports cross-product team issues or questions this is very important. Many standard integrations, such as with ITSM tools, help to integrate the solution well into the enterprise environment; custom integrations are also possible. It's great to see how the product is constantly being developed further with user input.

We have been a happy customer for over five years now. During this time, we've consistently received valuable guidance, quick support and deep expertise to manage and mature our Enterprise Architecture capabilities. The relationship has always been reliable and significantly contributes to our strategic planning efforts. Another aspect worth mentioning is the product roadmap - is truly transparent, well communicated and open for customer input, which makes us feel truly involved in the evolution of the solution!

LeanIX Enterprise Architecture Likes & Dislikes

Like

Considering our power plant business which is expanding every year, we consider this product perfectly matches our business requirements and more over our SAP systems are RISE environments which becomes an added advantage for easy implementation for this SAAS based solution in the BTP integration suite. Moreover for me its like a stopper shop solution where we are running the business on 24/7 without any downtime and all of sudden if any new business strat comes during power distribution then the LeanIX architecture suggest the methodology by providing the fact sheets and within fraction of seconds we get the new process to run our Turbine for more steam generation. MRP planning is excellent which helps a lot for the PPC department to use this architecture with the factsheets and process methodology driven by SAP Plant maintenance team for achieving long term business goals.

Like

Repository of Applications connected to other things like Business Capabilities, Organization etc. And being able to connect and get the bigger picture. But also very important to connect all the objects into diagrams and see what diagrams are connected to the objects.

Like

What I like most is how easy it is to get started. Compared to other tools we looked at, LeanIX felt quite intuitive, and we were able to begin documenting applications without a long setup phase. The visualization of the application landscape is very helpful. It gives a quick overview and makes it easier to explain architecture topics, even to colleagues who are not deeply involved in IT. I also like that it encourages a more structured way of documenting systems and interfaces.

Dislike

For continuous machine outputs like the fastener divisions where stain-steel nut and bolts come in one go and when the machine gets heated up so we have to manually change the machine calibration so that we can start production for other customers whose requirement for thread bolt is there and which can produce even the machine gets heated but the Computer aided design of the bolt is simple which can be easily produced. Here the LINIX architecture and its methodology are facing the challenges of predicting the machine running condition.

Dislike

User interface is terrible. Verry dificulit for new users to understand where information (attributes are) they are not visible. Also, nothing is finished to the fullest, making good functionality often useless, e.g. surveys, architecture decisions, reports, integrations, cost management, KPI-management, rights-system, backup-handling. Backup is totaly missing. The admin personnel can go into the system without me knowing and approving. No sensitivity labeling or information classification.

Dislike

Since we are still on our journey, one of the main challenges is keeping the data complete and up to date. It requires continuous effort, and without clear ownership, it can quickly become inconsistent. We also noticed that for more specific reporting needs, the standard views are sometimes not enough, so we occasionally export data for further analysis.
