“From endless emails to visual clarity, A game changer for real estate projects ”

I initially had doubts about Lucid, mainly because i had already used several diagramming and collaboration tools that promised more that they delivered. After integrating Lucid in our daily work, it has fully lived upto its purpose. A large part of my role involves translating complex property development workflows, leasing processes and operational procedures into something that decision makers can easily understand. Before Lucid, discussions were buried in lengthy email threads and documents but now, i can walk stakeholders through visual process maps during meeting, capture feedback on the spot and update workflows in realtime. It has also helped out team refine project scopes, identify process gaps and keep client timelines. We particularly appreciate the visual presentations because they simplify complex operational relationship that would take multiple meetings to explain. This has improved communication across departments and given us a shared visual source of truth during planning, workshops and project execution

“Seamless Core Features Offset by Difficult User Management and Internal Process Hurdles”

2.0
Apr 27, 2026
Several reasons and experiences factor into my rating of below average. Starting with the software itself, the core features of LucidChart and LucidSpark work seamlessly. Overall, they are a great solution with only a little left to be desired. However, the good news stops there. Lucid's internal processes have put significant strain on our business relationship. There has been an extremely high amount of turnover with respect to our account management team over the years, which has led to confusion and communication gaps at times. Additionally, the in-product self-service license purchase workflow has made it difficult for us to scale our account with ease. Despite all of this, the platform is still worth using in an enterprise setting.

Smooth and Easy-to-Use platform, but File and User organization needs more intuitive user interface

    4.0
    Apr 30, 2026
Overall, my experience with Lucid has been positive in terms of usability, design quality and available templates. The platform is smooth, visually appealing and easy to work with for collaboration and documentation purposes. However, during real usage scenarios such as mind mapping and process flow creation, we faced a few functional limitations that impacted productivity. For example, while building mind maps, there was no option to create a connection between two separate mind maps through a specific node, which made it difficult to represent complex relationships. Similarly, when creating process flows, connecting different flow diagrams together was straightforward, and the absence of linking options between flows made it harder to represent end-to-end processes Another challenge we faced was related to user removal and file ownership transfer. When removing a member, the platform only displays the count of files being transferred, but it is not clearly communicated what happens to those files afterward, which can be confusing from an administrative standpoint. In addition, file organisation could be improved. It's not always clear which files are internal, shared or stored within folders, and the hierarchy feels slightly unintuitive when managing multiple documents. We also observed usability concerns in mind mapping. While moving across nodes using keyboard navigation is possible, editing reuqires manual mouse selection of the node, which reduces efficiency for users who rely heavily on keyboard workflows. Lastly, some key features are distributed across Lucidspark and Lucidchart, and even after purchasing the suite, it was not always intuitive which features were available in which tool. This caused some confusion during usage.

Performance of Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite Across Market Features

Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite Likes & Dislikes

Like

Lucid is a collaboration powerhouse with a modern and crisp interface that makes diagramming simple, fast abd highly efficient. The drag and drop experience allows me to quickly build process maps, workflow diagrams and stakeholder journey maps without spending alot of time on formatting. What stands out most is how effectively Lucid combines intelligent diagramming and virtual whiteboarding. I regularly use Lucidchart's professional templates, flowcharts, organizational charts, process maps and system visualizations when documenting property acquisition process, tenant onboarding workflow and operational procedures. The ability to connect diagrams to live data adds valuable context to our discussions, while Lucidspark's infinite canvas has become our most preffered space for brainstorming sessions. Additionally, features like sticky notes and drawing tools helps us structure ideas and keep meetings productive. Realtime collaboration is where Lucid truly shines. It enables multiple users to work within the same document or board simultaneously and the changes appears to all participants instantly, comments stay attached to relevant content and the integrated chat make stakeholder engagement seamless and without communication delays. What really set Lucid apart is the robust data security and encryption measures that enable us to effortlessly work with sensitive real estate client information, financial projection and property records.

Like

The ease of use with getting setup is best in class and the software doesn't need explanation to use and get started. The ability to spin up a diagram or whiteboard and share it with others, including those without licenses, is easy, efficient, and powerful.

Like

Lucid provides a smooth and user-friendly experience with strong visual design. The color options and formatting tools are simple yet effective, making diagrams and mind maps easy to present professionally. The wide range of templates is extremely helpful, and the explanations provided for each template add value, especially fro new users. I also appreciate the guided tutorials that help users to quickly get accustomed to the platform and its features.

Dislike

While creating and collaborating on Lucid is smooth, importing external content requires extra efforts. We have encountered situations where Excel and CSV imports require careful restructuring to work efficiently.

Dislike

Lucid's internal processes put significant strain on our business relationship. There has been an extremely high amount of turnover in our first few years within their account management team which left to confusion and communication gaps for extended periods of time. Additionally, the in-product self-service license purchase workflow has made it difficult for us to scale with ease. Lastly, the administration section is the most challenging part of the platform to use. It's extremely difficult to navigate and it's unclear what the different features within do relative to each other. There is very little flexibility with respect to user management which makes it difficult for me to take an audit of how many users are licensed in each business unit.

Dislike

The main drawback is the absence of certain expected features in mind mapping and flow diagram creation, as well as more intuitive file and user management.
