Like

I can see my team at a glance and if they are busy or available.

Dislike

Lync's ability to connect from any environment, whether it's a computer, phone, or the Internet, gives users the option to connect with multiple devices.

Dislike

I am not at all satisfied with it, 1. The audio call quality is not so good. 2. This is lacking many features like video conferencing and more. 3. Since the day i started using i have not yet got even a single update of it. It requires a lot of improvements to make it presence in today's market.

Dislike

The windows don't pop up as much in this version so it's sometimes easy to miss a message.

It's really great! It syncs to Outlook, easy to share screens. It's a great tool. My only negative is that this version is a bit harder to use because the windows don't show up individually.

    User Friendly, Simple

First of all, Lync 2010 is a user friendly application. It is so easy to communicate with people who use Lync. Nevertheless, in my opinion status are can be developed. For example, "Do not Disturb" status blocks the chat in the progress and sends the conversation by e-mail. But history of conversation is effected because of this. If possible, in do not disturb status conversation may continue and warning about conversation may not be sent to the user by yellow light.

Lync is a robust communications tool for organizations to grow into

Overall, the implementation of Lync has been easy and staff has bought into its features. Highlights of Lync include inter-office IM to cut down on emails; ease of setting up online conference calls with document/presentation sharing; allows you to see availability of colleagues as well, i.e., if they are on a call, away from their desk or available. Small learning curve for adding colleagues to calls and/or working with folks outside of the office.
