“Network Mapping Tool Enhances Transparency but Raises Concerns Over Cost and AI”

4.0
Jan 10, 2026
This tool was a welcome addition for our networking team as they finally had a tool that would help reduce the number of inbound questions to them regarding how things were mapped or worked. The network mapping and being able to visualize it really helped to streamline these conversations with end users as well as trouble shooting as path analysis was more easily done along with performance monotiring for any spikes or blocks. We really enjoyed being able to finally expose our network not only as a generated map but at times a live map to really make things transparent for all team members. This helped our network team to not only visualize but also in real time trouble shoot bottle necks before issues impacted more of our network.

“Comprehensive network visibility with dynamic mapping shortens resolution time”

3.0
May 19, 2026
The platform provides comprehensive network visibility, automated mapping and troubleshooting capabilities that significantly reduce the time required to identify and resolve network issues. The most valuable aspect is its ability to dynamically discover the network and generate real-time topology maps. This gives our team a clear understanding of dependencies and accelerates root cause analysis.

About Company

Company Description

Updated 25th July 2024

Extensive network visibility and automation offset by challenging initial setup

    5.0
    May 24, 2026
My experience with using NetBrain Next-Gen has been really good and impressive. The platform has improved our network operations by providing end to end visibility, way faster troubleshooting, and last but not the least, automated documentation. There are features like dynamic topology mapping and real-time path analysis helped us reduce the time required to identify and resolve network issues, especially in complex multi-vendor environments. We gave it a thought to try other software as well but NetBrain Next-Gen has been top notch and no other software was not able to come even closer to it. So after thorough research we decided to move ahead with NetBrain.

    Best Network Visibility and Automation

    4.0
    Jan 14, 2026
After having used NetBrain for a few weeks now, overall my experience has been really positive I would say. One aspect is while measuring our in-house metrics like MTTI and MTBF, I noticed there is a significant reduction in time while using the product. Another aspect, which that helped me a lot was the ability to automate troubleshooting steps instead of using CLI commands everytime. The only downside which I noticed is the initial setup and steep learning curve for the newer intent-based automation features.

Powerful network visibility and automation, with a noticeable learning curve

    4.0
    Jan 8, 2026
Overall, NetBrain Next-Gen has been a strong addition to our network operations toolkit. The ability to automatically discover the network and generate dynamic maps has significantly reduced troubleshooting time. It helps engineers quickly understand dependencies and current network state instead of relying on outdated documentation. The platform is powerful, but initial setup and rule configuration take time and require good network knowledge. Once tuned properly, it delivers consistent value for incident analysis and change validation.

Network Automation Reduces Manual Troubleshooting Yet Reporting Remains Less Streamlined

    5.0
    Apr 22, 2026
Three years in , NetBrain has fundamentally changed how our team approaches network issues. Before, we would spend the first 30-45 minutes of any incident just tracing paths manually. Now that legwork is mostly automated, so engineers can focus on actually solving this problem rather than mapping it. It is not a zero maintenance tool, keeping runbooks current takes discipline - but the payoff during high pressure incidents makes that worthwhile. Overall this tool is great if your team is serious about network automation.

NetBrain Next-Gen Likes & Dislikes

Like

The ability of this tool to generate visuals is probably the biggest selling point and for good reason. The generated content can not only be taken as a snap shot but also can be viewed live when trouble shooting. Support from the vendor has also been rock solid as some of our questions were as simple as how can we do this all the way up to how can we customize and automate some reporting aspects to generate more insights from the tool. Lastly being able to quickly trouble shoot, and keyword here is quickly has really reduced our incident response time that we actually reduced some of our SLA agreements. This tool is also starting to infuse AI into it which is really icing on the cake and is exciting as this product continues to improve

Like

I like its dynamic network mapping and automated troubleshooting capabilities. Also it seamlessly integrates with monitoring tools enabling a more streamlined incident response process

Like

The thing we like most about Netbrain Next-Gen is its dynamic network mapping and its visualization capability which makes it better than most of its competitive softwares. The platform automatically discovers network devices and generates real-time topology maps, which greatly simplifies troubleshooting, dependency tracking and impact analysis etc. Compared to maintaining static documentation manually, this feature saves a significant amount of time and improves operational accuracy. I also appreciate the automation features, especially for network documentation and diagnostics, which help reduce manual effort and accelerate issue resolution. So overall its a great software to have and i would say its a must have software and you should not give it a second thought before trying it.

Dislike

The largest concern for us is really you get what you pay for and while this tool has a rich feature set for our networking team, it is proving costly as it has eaten into the budget quite a bit that justification for this tool has come under some scrutiny. It would be great if there were more aspects of the tool that we could pick and choose from in order to customize a reasonably priced package for our team. Another concern or area of improvement is that while the AI infusion into this product can at times be really eye opening, it can also get in the way of trouble shooting sometimes as it has suggested things that were not accurate and it took away some of our trouble shooting time. One other area of improvement is it would be great if more canned reports could be self service generated from the tool as it stands we export our data to another team to help with reporting.

Dislike

The initial setup and learning curve, configuration requires time and expertise especially in large and complex network environments

Dislike

Well, there is not much to dislike about this software but one thing i didnt like as much was the initial setup and integration process. In larger or more customized network environments, getting everything configured properly can take quite a bit of time and effort. Device discovery, permissions, and integrations all require careful planning, so the onboarding experience can feel a little complicated at first. That said, once everything is set up and the team gets familiar with the platform, it becomes much easier to manage and provides a lot of value overall. But initially its quite difficult as a software to understand and get used to it.
