Production Issue Logging - enhanced by vAndon. We now have a full digital history of issues on our shopfloor. An issue requires acknowledgement, action and closure, which is logged digitally. Great for looking back and putting corrective actions in place. Timings - the timings collected in VisualFactory can be just as accurate as a Manufacturing Engineer with a stopwatch, so long as you have the correct discipline on the shopfloor. Being able to collect timings without dedicating a resource to watching the assembly process is great. Ease of Use for Both Shopfloor and Office Users - we have users where English is their second language, and wouldn't have been proficient using computers, but VisualFactory's UI is intuitive and easy to navigate. The fact that it's web-based means the operator can translate the page to their first language if needed (VF also has some tools to do this more elegantly, but this has worked well for us) Extensibility/Triggering - One VF's greatest strengths. Being able to send an email/text/phonecall automatically when a certain event has occurred (like a work instruction being completed, or an issue raised) is really beneficial. Reporting - The ultimate tool in VF's toolkit is reporting. Being able to access the databases behind the scenes and create some very complex reports on all aspects of VisualFactory. Reporting has come a long way in VF, and it's now made even simpler with their no-code report builder. Yes, there's a learning curve to it, but once you get the hang of it, it's just incredible for someone to have an idea for a report, and 10 minutes later you have it created and on a dashboard for them to see.

Rigidity Effort to update work instructions Complexity of system for simple changes

Sometimes when trying to adapt the system for a specific use case, you can encounter software issues. This is to be expected though, and the support team is great at offering advice and workarounds. Some wants can be submitted as a Feature Request, but don't expect the feature to be released anytime soon. I can't mark down VisualFactory on this though, as many other MES providers don't give their customers a chance to submit Feature Requests, so at least they do consider customer feedback, and a few of my Feature Requests have made it into the latest VF release.

Harnessing Data for Shopfloor Optimization with VisualFactory

VisualFactory is a fantastic tool for managing shopfloor operations. Using this software, we have been able to collect data on our production timings and log issues throughout our build. Previously we were using paper to track our products on our production line, but VisualFactory has totally digitalised our shopfloor operations. We now hold digital work instructions, with parts and BOMs linked to each sub assembly, something we only had on paper before. We now digitally log, track and report on issues encountered throughout the build, helping us with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. We are now collecting more data than we ever anticipated, and we are using that data to develop insights and learnings. We have used the system for over 7 years now, and we have it pretty well tailored to suit our needs, but it still surprises me how much functionality there is that we haven't fully utilised yet. It's just an incredibly capable piece of software.

VisualFactory offers excellent features at a reasonable price. It controls our processes and enabled us to move to a paperless factory. We have implemented VisualFactory at sites around the world and can rest easy knowing our assembly and test processes are identical. Process consistency ensures that our product quality is the same regardless of the assembly location. Connecting it to the BOM in our ERP system allows us to simplify the process of building work instructions. Integrating various automation elements reduces reliance on the operator to initiate and monitor processes. The ability to create English language work instructions and have VisualFactory translate to multiple languages makes it easy to support global sites. As a result, we have greatly reduced our operator learning curve and improved their productivity. Finally, the support provided by NoMuda is top notch. The experts at NoMuda were made available whenever we needed them. There were challenges as we integrated automation and implemented VisualFactory at each site but we never felt alone in overcoming them. Downtime on the system has been minimal and the ability to share user licenses across the world has eased IT management. We are thrilled with our purchase!

NoMuda has had exceptional customer service and an exceptional product since the beginning of our relationship. During the evaluation phase, there was never any pressure from the sales team. A demo was performed, pricing was provided, and we were given time and space to make our decision. Once we had decided to use Visual Factory as our MES, NoMuda was very helpful and responsive during the entire pilot phase and was able to provide us with more than the usual pilot offering in order to support our needs in testing the product. After the pilot phase, we decided to proceed with a full implementation and NoMuda spent many hours in meetings with us perfecting our scope of work document to make sure that all parties' expectations were clearly laid out. Throughout the implementation, support has been fantastic and NoMuda has been able to adapt to our needs as the project has evolved. They were able to provide global support to both our US team and our China team in a timely manner and have partnered with us to launch new products with a new system in multiple plants. The product is very flexible and has been able to support our needs.
