Rockwell Automation's Plex focuses on delivering smart manufacturing solutions via the cloud. The main business problem Plex solves is incorporating connectivity, automation, tracking, and analysis into the business processes of manufacturers. Its platform, the Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform, offers facilities such as manufacturing execution, enterprise resource planning, quality control, supply chain planning and management, asset performance monitoring, production surveillance, process automation, and analytics. These functionalities enable seamless integration of people, systems, machines, and supply chains for precise, efficient, and agile management.

The UX system is clean and easy to navigate. Their support team is excellent! And the reporting system is great as well. There are many different ways to create your report, but I personally like to use the SQL development environment and Intelliplex.
UX is modern looking, that's about all the positive I can say about it. It's cloud based so you don't have to host the software yourself.
It is easy to use and a very good tool to utilize when having to meet 3rd party audit requirements.
The documentation can be a pain to sort through. Would be nice if there was one large PDF manual with all of the documentation pages combined. The API is a bit lackluster and would be really great if they added more. As it stands now, in UX you cannot see the SQL code that is behind most of the pages in Plex. As I understand it, this was something you could do in Plex Classic. It would be extremely helpful for us if this was added to UX.
Rockwell Automation incorrectly reports its downtime. They do not consider things like not being able to login or process any production as downtime. If even one small portion of the system works, it is not considered downtime. Even if your entire site can't be reached because of a server issue on Plex's end, it won't be reported as downtime as long as a single customer across the country is still able to login.
1. We were tasked with having to handle generating our own security role system and training our employees to transition from using Classic Plex to UX Plex. This has still not been completed! 2. Keeping the same representation of support personnel from Plex assigned to our site. 3. The support services are slow to complete a request often times leaving us to rely on a voting system of fellow customers to vote up or down what potential fixes will be done first.
