solid reliablity : nutanix platform consistently delivers for us we used to depend on lots of physicals servers and a very complicated virtual platform, but the move to nutanix transformed how we work and given us the tability and performance we required! Support and exertise : Big shout out to the team I work with Kevin Mcgarvy and Hazel Dignan these type of people make the transition to a Nutanix platform so much easier! Their ability to simplify complex challenges and give pratical actionable advice makes a huge difference. Simplified operations : From deployment to daily management nutanix makes exverything easier. The interface is intuitive and reduces alot of manual effort, updates and scaling is straightforward. it allows me and the team to focus on delivering more.
1. exceptionally simple, unified management (prism & automation tools) 2. flexible, integrated hypervisor (ahv) with strong performance and lower costs 3. industry-leading hybrid and multicloud capabilities (nc2, cloud native aos, external storage integration)
It is simple to look after and manage and gives us a single pane of glass to manage and monitor our systems. We run almost the full stack of products and they give are all tightly integrated and we regularly get new features that make life easier. Configuration of our main cluster was simple and easy to understand and the failover testing and configuration a breeze.
Licensing and cost complexity : while the platform delivers strong value, the pricing and licensing feels complicated. understanding which features requires addidtional licenses can sometimes take more effort than expected. Steep learning curve for advanced features : basic operations are simple, but once you start exploring deeper capabilities the learning curve increases and it often requires addidtional training or support to fully leverage, however this is not only Nuntaix which has this type of problem. IT in gerneral is becoming more complex, or maybe I'm just getting old. Hardware Compatibility and upgrade contraints: although nutanix supports multiple vendors there are still limitions around approved hardware lists, firmware requirements and upgrade paths, this can retrict flexability or slow down hardware refresh cycles.
1. AHV still has limitations compared to competitor 2. rebuilds and maintenance can be time-consuming 3. limited legacy support
The hardware refresh could be a bit more flexible, for larger clusters a refresh every 5 years can be expensive
