The flexibility of this tool was perfect for some of our internal niche groups where they needed to fall in line to ensure that they were following the audit and compliance processes of our greater organization. Not only did it help to automate our internal audit and compliance workflows we also have a small subset of users that can leverage this tool for SDLC and also problem resolution. The fact that this company also seems to be relatively new there is a consistent sense that there is more improvements coming in the near future.
Exceptions, Policies and Standards
Onspring's user interface is very easy to use and configure without requiring a heavy IT background. Our new and novice employees have no problem using it. The customer service is excellent. Very quick response times and knowledgeable staff make opening up a support request very smooth. The out of the box features are a nice addition which allows you to avoid having to waste time customizing. They anticipated this and provided all the features that make dashboard and audit workflow creation very simple. The modules are all included with the purchase as well which is very convenient.
As mentioned previously since this company seems to be a bit newer compared to some other competitors it does at times feel like there is still some growing pains. Also new product releases are done roughly quarterly which doesnt really help if there is an urgent need to modify and fix a core concern. Also Onspring can be a bit overwhelming with its level of customization which led to some confusion with our end users as to where to start. It would help if there were further templates or start here wikis that could help guide brand new users.
Low Integration with Other tools, Access Management and Process Management
Overall, we are very satisfied with Onspring and have only a few minor issues: There is very limited GUI access for people who don't have users accounts and just need basic read only access. The only way to get them what they need is to get them a user account and use a full license. Onspring has said they will be adding in a portal to address this in a future update though. Some of our users in India and Europe have complained about the date formats being specific to just the US and not configurable to what they use in their respective countries. The API that is used to integrate with other software is a bit confusing and the documentation on their support site is lacking. although Onspring's support has been helpful with the integration.
