Smooth integration between OpenText and SAP for mass data archiving
I implemeneted this solution at a Utilities client, so the strategy was a bit on the conservative side. We installed OpenText Content Suite 10.1 -- back then Archive Server and Content Server were separately versioned. I was responsible for the SAP side as well and the LiveLink /ArchiveLink integration between SAP/OpenText CS. With sufficient knowledge on the SAP side and OT side, I found the implementation to be 7 on a scale of 10 , in terms of "difficulty". We were able to archive off a few teraBytes of data so SAP CR-B for Utilities does not hangup when pulling up some customer billing/service functions. - Administrator1B-10B USDGovernmentReview Source
A maintenance plan after go live was really never thought out properly.
Better overall collaboration between the stakeholders and the 3rd party vendor up front would have resulted in better adoption of the new technology by the users. A partnership type relationship should have been the goal between us and the vendor before starting the implementation.
