PRTG is a simple tool for monitoring network and other devices with easy setup and management. We have used it for more than 10 years with >5000 active sensors in a cluster mode. Creating maps with selected sensors is easy and gives valuable information on one page. We use scheduled reports and e-mail/Teams alerts for threshold breaches. If you group devices and sensors, you can set a threshold for multiple interfaces at once. We use some WMI sensors to monitor Windows servers, and with a large predefined sensor library we use specific OIDs only on rare occasions. New subscription licensing multiplied our support costs because we had unlimited perpetual licenses and paid a reasonable price for support. We rarely needed support, but when we did, they responded quickly. Happy with the product but due to price increase and as we have implemented another solution which has got performance monitoring, we will use it as long as it works with the current license.
