One thing I appreciate most about Paylocity is the product upgrades. You have the ability to offer feedback, and we have seen quite a few improvements made over the years from requests we have made (and most likely other users). The modules are very comprehensive, and just about every need we have as a team can be addressed by a module in the system. The reporting features and ability to share report access with managers has significantly decreased the effort needed from my team. Overall, the system is very user friendly for our employees and our HR team, and we are satisfied with the decision to use the platform.
The Community page allows better connection with EEs. Payroll is well integrated and requires few steps to complete, which makes it quicker and prevents errors. FMLA leave tracking is beneficial.
The product itself is user-friendly, easy to administer, and intuitive in terms of where key functions are at. Paylocity does listen and work to offer good HRIS solutions.
One thing that was not made clear during the demo and initial evaluation is that Paylocity can not process Payroll for international countries directly in the system. Instead, we use BlueMarble to process our Canada payroll. This wasn't a complete deterrent, but we would definitely like to see everything integrated fully into one system to provide a seamless experience for our Canada team and Payroll admin.
It is very hard-coded and limited for companies and/or industries that need complex operatons. We have also experienced some struggles with customer support regarding timeliness, knowledge, and clear communication and expectations.
As mentioned previously, Paylocity lacks a lot on the support side. They are constantly going through account reps, so you often have a newbie that knows less about the system than you trying to trouble shoot. Additionally, I often get told This is a known problem with no ETA on resolution. Issues will go on for 6 months that are systemic and we get no update on when things will get better.

When reaching out to customer service, the rep isn't always knowledgeable on how to assist. There have been times when we have been given poor guidance. We recently found out that our quarterly filings have been late. We also found out that our 125 deductions were not set up correctly. Platform Easy to Navigate but Real-Time Support and Reporting Lacking Detail
Overall, the platform is easy to navigate and understand. I would like to be able to have hands on training however most payroll providers no longer offer this. Creating new reports can be difficult as well as approving timecards for our 3rd shift employees due to start/end times.
