Services is great. Hitachi has a lot of experts on this comming from Pentaho and their service meets the expectation.
Its community version is capable of a lot of integrations and provide a wide list of connectors. Its metadata injection capability provide a lot of flexibility for developers. Addition of functionality to run custom javascript and calling shell scripts is also a great feature.
We like the schedule feature, which helps managing parallel transformations that don't interfere with current jobs. Cleansing data is also supported before storage. We can even deploy a web server remotely for running migrations and transformations
Its not quite user friendly at first but you get used to it quickly.
It is not efficient in running loads or jobs in milliseconds timeframe. The documentation is not adequate specially for advanced features like load distribution through carte server or parallelization schemas. It provides only a basic repository mechanism.
Their troubleshooting section seems incomplete to us as sometimes we have to encounter unknown issues. Support team is helpful but still there's gap to save time.
