“Polarion review by Global Product Manager”

5.0
Dec 2, 2024
The issues solved by Polarion were great. It is an effective tool for requirement management as an Application Lifecycle management tool. As a Product manager had to collect voices and it helped with L1 and L2 approvals and conversion of voices to requirements and further requirements to test cases and test runs assisting the overall PDP process for the new product development. Walk me feature was a great addition.

“Complete, integrated, ALM/PLM system that can be validated for Medical Device Software.”

3.0
Oct 26, 2021
For medical device software development ALM/PLM, it's one of the best systems out there. However, it is a bit pricey for small firms. One of the other issues is that it is sold through resellers so your experience will vary depending on who your reseller partner is. It is a very complete system that has every feature that you could want in a fully integrated package. One of the key features for us is the Varients package which allows for a checkpointing or branching capability of requirements so that you can have multiple versions as well as package (project) dependencies. So you can have multiple projects that depend on a single module and just update that module and all of the other projects that use that module will then be updated in terms of their requirements and traceability. Additionally it has a decent ecosystem for integration and where it is lacking, they provide an API so that you can make your own! The only downside in my mind is that it is expensive in terms of initial and ongoing costs compared to some other products that offer similar features although they are not nearly as well integrated into a single package as Polarion is.

We have the option to upload related images and pdf files. We can also use the RPM no for complete traceability.

Completeness of the feature set. Can be validated for use to develop Regulated Medical Device Software

Software is very simple to use based on a very simple infrastructure, most likely is a web tool so easy to access and use.

1.Icons are smaller in some cases for navigation.

Dislike

Higher Cost than most. Method of purchasing through a reseller partner. Not a true SaSS (you are actually running a dedicated instance not some kind of microservice).

Exploring Polarion's Roll in Streamlined Product Development Workflows

    4.0
    Jul 3, 2024
Overall, using Polarion for Automotive and Non-Automotive product development feels smooth. This helps me perform my day-to-day activities with ease without the need to worry about all the details. There are a lot of areas for improvement in the tool itself, but it helps perform the task with ease. For example: In the case of Automotive Product development, the tool provides all the necessary workflows and fields that can be taken directly out of the box into implementation. This will help meet the certification needs for Automotive Products. Another example of a Non-Automotive product. Now in this case, the tools don't come in the way of providing the necessary fields and can be customized to avoid many processes related elements.
