It's open source, ease of use, acceptable performance and certain degree of stability

Requires advanced expertise for scaling tuning, clustering and HA depending on external tools, less enterprise support than other vendors, some monitoring and reporting gaps

Free tooling support is limited, and the tools are not very mature, quite clunky to work with / administer. Settings for transactionality and being able to apply groups of scripts at once are too complex and more sophisticated than necessary, default settings too are often unintuitive

less powerful than other solution especially on security side. Too many tunable parameters with poorly chosen default values. Poor documentation
