“Bumpy start but came good in the end.....”
Overall experience was positive, although it started not as well as we had hoped. Commercially and contractually Rackspace are a difficult organisation to agree terms with. They adopt a very hard-lined stance when it comes to what they can agree to. Additionally some of the promises made prior to award did not carry through when it came to contract award, console access being one such example along with speed of implementing you over to the cloud. However as the implementation progressed they became much more supportive and accommodating of what they can do. This was evidenced by a successful implementation of our application space in a very constricted timeframe. I do genuinely believe their statement of being ‘Fanatical Support.

Ultimately a very souped-up IaaS model. The tools were easy for the engineers to adopt and use.
Support is indeed fanatical.
HV access or lack of!
The cost of the service, when compared to competitors, would definitely be considered premium.
I miss white glove support, but the leveraged model does work well.

Service and support is always the top priority
Rackspace has a leveraged service platform that works well when adopted, and their implementation teams are very flexible and responsive. Fanatical Support is almost there
Overall we are satisfied with the client but there are some rooms for improvement. Over the next couple of year we have seen a slight degradation of the support service especially around response (we need to schedule with several weeks of anticipation to make sure things happen) and after hours activities (we don't have the same level of expertise available after business hours CST).
