Market Presence: Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platforms, Logistics Data Platform

Overview

Product Information on Shippeo Platform

Updated 3rd April 2023

What is Shippeo Platform?

Shippeo provides real-time, multimodal transportation visibility to major shippers and logistics service providers to help them operate more collaborative, automated, sustainable, profitable, and customer-centric supply chains. With a Multimodal Visibility Network integrated with more than 1,000 TMS, telematics and ELD systems, Shippeo’s platform provides instant access to real-time shipment tracking across all transport modes, in a single portal, through an intuitive user experience. A proprietary machine learning ETA algorithm allows supply chain companies to quickly anticipate problems, proactively alert customers, efficiently manage exceptions with collaborative workflows, and accurately measure CO2 and GHG emissions from supply chain transport.

Shippeo Platform Pricing

Shippeo charges an annual subscription fee calculated based on the number of shipments, the transport mode (road, parcel, rail, air, barge, ocean), and solution modules purchased. Shippeo charges a one-time fee at the start of the project to cover the professional services (project management, specific integrations). All carrier onboarding fees are free of charge and included in the annual subscription. Shippeo does not have a carrier-paid model.

Real-time shipment monitoring improves operational response in complex supply chains

    4.0
    Jun 18, 2026
My overall experience with Shippeo Platform has been positive because it gave us a far more disciplined way to manage transportation visibility across a supply chain that is operationally complex and quality-sensitive. In our environment, material does not move in a straight line from supplier to customer. We are dealing with inbound raw ingredients, staged production, intermediate product movement, testing in multiple labs, warehouse transfers, and final outbound deliveries across different regions. That means a delay in one transport leg can create a production issue, and a late quality result can create a commercial issue after material has already moved downstream. What Shippeo improved for us was the ability to monitor shipment status in a more structured, real-time way and respond earlier when timing started to drift. The platform was especially helpful because it moved part of our organization away from manual tracking and fragmented status updates. Before having a strong visibility layer, teams tend to spend too much time chasing carriers, checking emails, and trying to reconcile where a shipment should be versus where it actually is. With Shippeo, we were able to centralize that view and make discussions more fact-based. The real value was not just seeing where freight was, but understanding whether a delay was becoming operationally significant. In a business like ours, that matters because transportation performance is directly connected to planning stability, inventory exposure, testing timelines, and customer service risk.

Deciding Factors: Shippeo Platform Vs. Market Average
Performance of Shippeo Platform Across Market Features

Shippeo Platform Likes & Dislikes

Like

What I like most about Shippeo is that it gives transportation visibility in a way that is actually usable for operations, not just for display. First, the visibility is strong enough to support decision-making instead of just status checking. In our case, it is not enough to know that something is in transit. We need to know whether that shipment is still aligned to production demand, warehouse intake, transfer timing, or customer commitments. Shippeo helped close that gap by making movement data easier to interpret and by making delays more actionable. Second, the alerts are valuable because they help the team focus on exceptions rather than reviewing every shipment manually. In a large, globally distributed network, the problem is rarely lack of data; the problem is knowing what actually needs attention. We found the alerting capability useful because it pulled attention toward shipments that were trending late, at risk, or no longer aligned with the expected handoff. That is important in our environment because one late inbound can affect a production schedule, and one late outbound can create customer-facing exposure if product release timing is tight. Third, the data integration side is one of the stronger parts of the platform. Our supply chain touches multiple carriers, different regions, warehouses, and internal systems. A visibility platform only becomes meaningful if it can take fragmented transport signals and turn them into one coherent view. Shippeo was valuable because it reduced the amount of disconnected tracking logic across the network and gave us a more standardized source of truth for transport events.
