    Simeio - Lot's of Promise But Unable to Effectively Execute

    Using a competitive process, our organization choose to proceed with Simeio IAM Solutions leveraging their Professional Services to help lead the implementation. While they were strong in the response, gave a reasonably good demo and had good references, our experience with them since signing the arrangement has been sub-optimal. Our processes afforded all vendors a discovery phase to prepare their quotes, and, once tentatively selected, an in depth validation phase. Despite those, since shortly after signing, our implementation has been plagued by delays (more often measured in weeks or months), constant turn over of key resources assigned to our account and implementation, and delivery of releases that reflected an absence of Quality Assurance or Control on the vendor side. We've also had similar challenges getting them to adhere to basic practices our organization uses that our rooted in COBIT and ITIL.

When challenged on the release, they seemed surprised that we would ask them to use our CAB processes. So far, product performance. From unexpected errors (which have happened not infrequently) to unexpected outages or serious service degredations, given the criticality of IAM services, this is surprising.
