The automation system is what I want to mention first. Day to day we have a lot of repeat scenarios, but non the less they are still important to keep track of for our records. Sourcemap was able to learn our processes quickly and start helping the team become more effective in meeting our clients' needs. Sourcemap offers real-time risk monitoring and this is a feature that we never realized how much we needed. It has been like having a second pair of eyes look over your work flow and give you second opinions on situations. Our team is small and sometimes things slip through the cracks, so we are grateful to have the additional check on our work. The software is very well designed. In our time testing different supply chain software we have found that it is only as complex as the software shows. We are happy to say that Sourcemap makes things clear and easy to understand.
The visualisation aspect - seeing it mapped out like a web instead of rows on a spreadsheet is intuitive. compliance reports - It helps with things like Labour regulations, keeping supplier declarations and audit docs centrally located Risk alerts - covers things like environmental disasters or strikes
The N-tier mapping visualization is excellent. Seeing the web-like relationships between direct and indirect suppliers is much more intuitive than traditional rows. It handles high volumes of raw data efficiently, fitting our data heavy workflows
One issue we have run into is the price, the software is useful but it is difficult to budget it into our business expenses. There is no trial period so you need to be ready to commit if you decide it is something that is right for you. Another thing of note is that enterprise resource planning is recommended to already be in place before implementing Sourcemap. I understand why, but it does mean that you and your team will need to put in some extra work before you can have full access to what Sourcemap can offer. The final thing I want to mention is that Sourcemap is still a growing software. There is a very promising future but it is just that, a future. If you are looking for an all-in-one piece of software, this might not be the one.
Pricey - no trial period and the enterprise cost is great. Not a huge amount of wiggle room for custom fields, fairly rigid backend. Relies on supplier compliance , automated surveys dont always get results without manual intervention
The administrative backend feels rigid when customizing fields beyond standard templates. Additionally, automated reminders don't fully replace the need for manual follow ups to ensure data quality from smaller regional vendors
