The ability to do bulk standardizations instead of one by one.
The cost of the service vs the value of data recevied from the service to ensure incoming addresses are usable is a very good ratio - making an essential action affordable. The ability to access (in limited fashion) their international data has also proven valueable in recovering accounts that would otherwise be unusable.
The Smarty API response quickly. Data is also reliable. Using the RDI (Residential Delivery Indicator) can help business department to decide shipping method or service to clients.
A pay as you go offering would be better for our needs.
I would prefer to be able to access the dataset from an off-line environment, which would allow me to utilize the Smarty tools in a more instances. I would additionally prefer that the free online access to corrective tools not be limited in number, bearing in mind fair use (non-automated) or that my paid account be referenced and deducted where I need this form of use (vs API) rather than blocked when reaching a limit.
When a building has both commercial and residential units, the RDU flag marks it as a commercial address. This means that online customers who live in the residential units cannot get weekend delivery service from the online store. It will be great if API can provide different indicator to detect the address that have both commercial and residential units.

We've used Smarty for many years (10+) as a defualt for handling incoming address data for the United States and as a tool to uplift international addresses on a one on one basis. This has proven very productive to remove bad data input from internet forms and uplift addresses that would otherwise be unusable due to poor user input. In the time that we've been usnig this product we have never experienced downtime of any kind.
