From an administrative perspective, Windows 2.2 represents a stable and future-proof evolution of previous versions. Microsoft sets new standards, particularly in the area of security, with features such as Secured Core Server, improved encryption, and modern network protocols. Administration remains largely familiar for experienced Windows administrators. Existing roles such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and File Services can be easily integrated and migrated.

Performance of Windows Server 2022 Edition Across Market Features

Windows Server 2022 Edition Likes & Dislikes

Like

The multi-layer security it includes provides a significant degree of security for client data and can prevent more sophisticated attacks. The native ability to manage on premises servers directly from the azure portal simplifies hybrid management especially for monitoring and automated patches. File transfers and web service communication is quite fast and more secure with no manual intervention.

Like

user interface and flexibility

Like

Enhanced security features, such as firmware protection and improved threat mitigation. Performance improvements in networking, storage and container workloads compared to previous versions. High stability and reliability for enterprise workloads, making it suitable for long-term production use.

Dislike

The licensing can be overly complex; core based licensing model is confusing and expensive. Cumulative updates still require frequent restarts that disrupt our .net applications from running 24/7. The browser based windows admin center is good but it does tend to force me to legacy consoles for deep level configurations.

Dislike

Support can take a long time to figure out issues usually going in circles

Dislike

Limited compatibility with some legacy applications, requiring additional workarounds. Occasional boot-related issues in virtualized environments, especially after configuration changes or updates. Updates ca be disruptive, with some patches having a higher operational impact than expected.
