The multi-layer security it includes provides a significant degree of security for client data and can prevent more sophisticated attacks. The native ability to manage on premises servers directly from the azure portal simplifies hybrid management especially for monitoring and automated patches. File transfers and web service communication is quite fast and more secure with no manual intervention.
I like that it brings a newer version than windows 2016, which is a bit outdated. I'm sure it comes with more features that can be utilized as well.
Significantly improved security through Secured Core Server at the hardware and firmware levels. Improved network performance through UDP and TCP optimization. Even more robust storage migration and larger volume support.
The licensing can be overly complex; core based licensing model is confusing and expensive. Cumulative updates still require frequent restarts that disrupt our .net applications from running 24/7. The browser based windows admin center is good but it does tend to force me to legacy consoles for deep level configurations.
I dislike that the new features aren't really shown without researching it. Unlike Windows 11 (from Windows 10), the new features aren't put right in front of your face so now I have to go out and find what is new compared to the older version.
Licensing can be expensive, especially with many cores. Many new features only become truly valuable when used with Azure. Some open-source tools run better on Linux.
