Flexible, user-friendly, and generally doesn't require coding. Eliminates linked spreadsheets and greatly reduces the need for tedious and error prone manual entry.
With the imported spreadsheets, plugging in budgets and amounts each month is pretty simple - everything is totaled up at the end for you! This makes one part of the budgeting process user-friendly and intuitive. An advanced user would probably find Adaptive Planning to be even more useful.
- Ease of system maintenance on the administrative side along with the customer support library is easy to search as questions come up that you might not know the answer too. - System flexibility that allows you to capture any sort of data point and you can connect those data points to your base financial statements' numbers if you choose to do so. - Continued product improvements that keeps you on the cutting edge of financial planning software capabilities.
Currently there is not an interface with Google suite like there is for Excel. Because the tool is super flexible and made for use with tablets, laptops, projection screens and everything in between, the reporting formatting isn't as flexible. However, there are advantages to having reporting and dashboard abilities built right in to the system. Adaptive is so flexible and offers many options for modeling and set up, some FP&A users get confused over the right type of sheet or account to employ. Fortunately, the documentation is outstanding.
Like any budgeting software, Adaptive Planning is a complicated software, with previous years' budgets, working budgets, actual budgets, etc. to all sift through. If a user knows what to look for, that helps, but a novice would definitely need guidance just to start the financial planning process.
- On a cube sheet you are unable to change all the sheet filters at one time, the sheet has to update itself after each filter is selected. - Overall there isn't much to dislike about Workday Adaptive.
