We really like the Platform stability, strong core virtualization capabilities and overall good value. It has been effective for running and managing Virtual Machine without necessary overheads
Product was very promising to run in conjunction with other services (including MPLS and Internet from multiple ISP's) and we thought it could be a life savior when we have outages on primary links and it should be able to off load all traffic including Cisco VOIP on other links. Master device was much more capable, but the leaf nodes were cost effective and that was the main reason to choose it in order to increase the footprint in remote branches including overseas.
Mature and reliable product with storage performance along with efficient resource utilisation. Best at integrating with Citrix products and central management console. Somewhat cost-effective, depending on the license model. But a solid choice for enterprise customers who are looking for a less complex and larger hypervisor ecosystem.
The biggest drawback is the learning curve for users who have not used Citrix before. IT Staff with less technical backgrounds struggled as well during the post-implementation. Documentation was good but it could be more robust. We also found that integration and advanced configurations required more planning that we initially assumed.
Whatever was promised to be delivered they were never able to deliver anything other than in their lab environment and only to one of the main offices in Melbourne after that it was a disaster and failure.
License costs are higher. Some advanced features require additional components and licenses to support. You're stuck with the Citrix ecosystem.
