XenServer Likes & Dislikes
Mature and reliable product with storage performance along with efficient resource utilisation. Best at integrating with Citrix products and central management console. Somewhat cost-effective, depending on the license model. But a solid choice for enterprise customers who are looking for a less complex and larger hypervisor ecosystem.
Product was very promising to run in conjunction with other services (including MPLS and Internet from multiple ISP's) and we thought it could be a life savior when we have outages on primary links and it should be able to off load all traffic including Cisco VOIP on other links. Master device was much more capable, but the leaf nodes were cost effective and that was the main reason to choose it in order to increase the footprint in remote branches including overseas.
1. Reliable and stable application delivery for large enterprise environments 2. Strong security controls with centralized access and policy management 3. Integrates well with enterprise identity
License costs are higher. Some advanced features require additional components and licenses to support. You're stuck with the Citrix ecosystem.
Whatever was promised to be delivered they were never able to deliver anything other than in their lab environment and only to one of the main offices in Melbourne after that it was a disaster and failure.
high licensing and overall cost compared to newer alternatives and management overhead for large environments

Promised Features Did Not Function Beyond Lab Environment And Main Office
It was a very poor decision to choose this product which ended up in wasting money and hardware still sitting in our data center that can't be used since its already end of life and end of support. They tried their best to implement it in our environment but because of the complexity it never worked. Not even a small portion of those services ever worked. - Engineering Manager50M-1B USDHealthcare and BiotechReview Source
Centralized Management Enables Reliable Virtualization but Increases Admin Complexity
Stable and mature virtualization platform - centralized management console is key to making the most out of this product for an enterprise environment. However, it does require skilled admin and ongoing maintenance to make sure it delivers business objects consistently. It also requires proper design and is managed by skilled people. - Sr Director Of It1B-10B USDIT ServicesReview Source

we have been using XenServer for many years and it has been a stable and reliable platform for delivering virtual applications at scale. It performs well for centralized app access, security and user consistency - IT SERVICES ASSOCIATE50M-1B USDManufacturingReview Source
Hosts Run Reliably for Years, But Version Management Hinders Maintenance Flexibility
Amazing product. About 95 percent of all our hosted VMs are running on XenServers and this product is rock solid. - IT Manager50M-1B USDIT ServicesReview Source
