Adobe Real-Time CDP Pricing

Adobe offers three editions of Real-Time CDP: the B2C Edition for B2C brands wanting to personalize experiences for consumers, the B2B Edition for B2B brands wanting to personalize experiences for leads and accounts and B2P Edition, for combined B2C and B2B brands wanting to personalize experiences for the same person across all lines of business. Pricing is determined by the amount of profiles that need to be managed.

The product itself accomplishes all the major things you'd need in a Customer Data Platform. There is a bit of a learning curve to properly model and ingest data, but this will be true for most of the vendors in the category. With customer data ingested, activation to a wide range of destinations is quite straightforward. Further, the product roadmap is updated regularly to ensure the product remains current with market needs.

My interactions with the vendor have so far been through using their platforms and limited to matters concerning training and certifications and project-related use. The experience has been overall ok. But the quality of the documentation could be improved. It lacks depth in many topics.

The application is flexible around data ingestion; both batch and streaming data sources can be ingested natively. The audience creation process is made simple by the Segment Builder feature, making it possible for customer audiences to be created by non-technical users. The audiences created through the real-time CDP can also be easily leveraged in Adobe Journey Optimizer, creating a compelling stack for activating customer data in both owned and non-owned marketing channels.

Dislike

Zero-copy integration with existing data lakes/warehouses has lagged. This feature exists, through Federated Audience Composition, but it's not as flexible as the features offered by pure-play composable CDP vendors. Querying and reviewing data once ingested is somewhat limited by the distinction between the free query service and the more advanced Data Distiller feature, which requires an additional license. Support for external integrations can sometimes be limited depending on the destination.

The documentation is superficial on a number of topics, and the training available on the platform is also superficial.

Time to implement and architect is the biggest time investment, if basics or schema creation is not been done correct, tech debt is really costly.
