ADOIT

ADOIT has proven to be a valuable tool for reaching Enterprise Architecture. My journey with ADOIT began as a student, where the tool was used in a university course. Later I transitioned to teaching a similar course as a lecturer, and in the coming year, I will be leading the course for the fourth time. The primary objective of adopting ADOIT was to equip students with a platform for modelling interconnected EAs, enabling detailed visualizations and analysis. Nowadays, the primary objective of adopting ADOIT in our research work is to provide a platform for modeling interconnected enterprise architectures, supporting analysis, and alignment across all relevant enterprise layers.

Our overall experience with both the tool and the vendor have been highly satisfying in the past almost 5 years. The BOC Groups supports our EA transformation initiatives both technically and from a business point of view whenever needed. ADOIT itself is being accepted university-wide more and more as the product evolves a lot in terms of usability and features from version to version. Additionally, we highly appreciate the great partnership with the BOC Group. All in all, compared to other tools we considered in the purchasing process, ADOIT came out with the best price-performance ration.

ADOIT offers a flexible architecture repository based on the Archimate standard. ADOIT allows for flexible customization / limitation of functionality according to the designed meta model, significantly simplifying architecture work in the area of target architectures. Additionally, this way it keeps the learning curve for new colleagues flat. If additional functionality is needed later, it can be easily activated again in the Admin Toolkit. ADOIT supports data imports via CSV files and provides an extensive REST API for integrating CMDB data. The available plugins for Confluence and Sharepoints facilitate communication of architecture within the company. This makes ADOIT a great tool for us.

I worked with different enterprise architecture management tools and helped organizations to integrate, use and adapt them. BOC Group's ADOIT is my favorite due to the reasons explained below.

ADOIT helps our university institute to model our case studies in various standardized and well-recognized modeling languages. BOC Group has also supported us in rolling the initiative out to our partner institutes worldwide. With the latest release, our feedback was heard and we can now fill out surveys and configure our own metamodel.
