Visual Low-Code Data Tool Eases Workflow but Overwhelms First-Time Users

The product has helped our team move from raw data to usable insights much faster, especially for repeatable workflows. The visual, low-code interface is powerful but can feel a bit overwhelming for first-time users, so some upfront training is needed.

Alteryx Simplifies Data Preparation and Transformation for Non-Technical Teams

    Dec 8, 2025
Alteryx is the best low-code solution for data preparation/blending, transformation and cleanup. This can be implemented in non-technical teams and trained on with less effort, and makes a significant saving in time and effort on a daily basis, boosting efficiency and productivity, while reducing monotony to create bandwidth.

Software Offers Robust Features For Individual ETL Developers With Some Setup Challenges

    Dec 8, 2025
Overall the software is very good. Easy to learn, there is good documentation on functions and tools. Advanced users can somewhat extend the software with macros and API integrations. The software is not designed for teams to manage workflows together. There is not any kind of change tracking or staging. Credential sharing among a team can be very difficult to set up.

Performance of Alteryx One Platform Across Market Features

Alteryx One Platform Likes & Dislikes

Like

- Users without knowledge of coding can understand the work. - Connects to diverse data sources to name a few Excel, SQL, Snowflake and other data lakes. - Offers automation where repetitive tasks like data cleaning, masking can be done well before it's visualized.

Like

As a long time Alteryx user, I felt like this product was super logical and worked well for people with either advanced Excel background or sql backgrounds. This version significantly reduced manual tasks and therefor, risk associated with manual processes.

Like

1. Visual workflows make it easy to trace and debug data pipelines. 2. Good range for connectors for combining data from multiple sources. 3. Easy to reuse and schedule workflows, which saves a lot of manual effort.

Dislike

- Especially for small organisations the Pricing might be on the higher side. - Performance may degrade when dealing with large datasets. - Upgrading the existing setup might get tedious without impacting the existing setup.

Dislike

This is a tough question as I'm a fan of Alteryx. I'd have to say maybe cost, time to get additional users up to speed, but not much else.

Dislike

1. For complete new users, the interface can feel overwhelming because there are so many tools and configuration options. 2. Running very large or complex workflows can consume significant local resources unless you invest in the right server or cloud setup. 3. The cost can be barrier if you want to scale licenses to a larger group of occasional users, which sometimes forces teams to share access.
