Performance of Amazon Workspaces Across Market Features
Amazon Workspaces Likes & Dislikes
- Easy and fast provisioning of work environments for new employees - Strong integration with AWS services and existing cloud infrastructure - Centralized control and security without relying on local hardware - Flexibility to scale up or down as the grows or changes.
the overall performance for users in nearby regions, the integration with our intune tenant for our directory, and the overall ease of building and maintaining the workspaces
What I like the most is the ease of provisioning and integration with directory service for centralized identity management. The ability to scale the virtual desktop up or down based on demand provides cost flexibility, especially for our L1 support. The virtual environment is user friendly as the needed application can be replicate easily for new users.
- Occasional latency, especially with heavier applications or multiple monitors - User experience is not very intuitive for non-technical users - Limited customization from the end-user perspective - Troubleshooting often requires IT involvement
the connection issues inter-region, the difficulty of reconnecting to a suddenly-closed session, frequent software issues that arise following windows patches on BYOL windows images
What I dislike is the performance variability depending on network conditions. The user experience is heavily dependent on internet connectivity and latency, which may affect productivity in certain regions, especially rural areas.

A reliable virtual desktop solution that works well for growing, remote teams but requires thoughtful setup and expectations.
Overall, our experience with Amazon WorkSpaces has been positive. It has helped us standardize work environments and onboard new team members quickly, especially in a remote-first setup. The service is reliable for day-to-day work and fits well with our existing AWS infrastructure. That said, it's not completely frictionless. Performance can vary depending on connection quality and workload, and some aspects of the user experience feel more geared toward technical users. Despite that, it has met our core needs and has been a dependable solution overall. - It Security & Risk Management Associate<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
Internet Connectivity Issues Impact Performance of Amazon Workspace Remote Desktop Service
My overall experience with Amazon Workspaces is likely satisfactory, as we need a secure environment for our L1 support. The service provides a scalable desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) solution without the need to maintain a complex on-premise VDI infrastructure, the cost can be shrink and grow according to our number of L1 support. - Operations Manager<50M USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
