Microsoft Azure Likes & Dislikes
Tight integration with MS 365, Intune and Entra ID for Identity and device management. Robust VM, networking and security capabilities that simplify hybrid-cloud ops. Comprehensive monitoring and management tools (azure monitor, log analytics, defender for cloud). Large ecosystem of templates, automaton options and 3rd party integrations.
Extensive support and access to engineers
Ability to do many integrations and security enhancements in the form of Application Security Groups. This allows our organization to enhance distributed firewall rules and create specific cloud-based IP/Firewall restrictions. Application Security Groups - Create a risk-based strategy for applications based on the inherent application structure, ability to group VMs within a single application and enforcing network-based rules with explicit IP addresses. Enhancements for connectivity and threat protection - By nature, the segmentation features of Microsoft Azure protect against Distributed Denial of Service by establishing Virtual Networks with peering, as well as securing connectivity to Azure on-premises.
Pricing structure is very complex. Unexpected costs can appear when workloads scale or when monitoring and backup services aren't properly scoped. The portal UI can feel inconsistent across different Azure services. Some settings are buried several layers deep. Documentation occasionally lags behind new feature releases, making deployment of new services more trial and error than it should be.
Lately, lots of outages in key services like FrontDoor. Support has been slow to respond and to update the status page.
There is nothing that I currently dislike about the product. If anything, when creating/applying micro segmentation, and if needing to create a conditional access policy, research all possible options and understand the nature of the conditional access policy you are creating. There is potential to lock yourself out of your own tenant when configuring user-based conditional access to virtual resources.

Scalability and Security Valued in Azure Despite Portal Inconsistencies and Costs
Azure has been a reliable platform for enterprise workloads, especially as we've migrated on-prem infrastructure and file shares into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Integration with other MS services like Entra ID, Intune, and SharePoint Online has been smooth and well-supported. Pricing transparency and documenting could improve, but overall, Azure provides the scalability, flexibility, and security we need to manage both production and development environments efficiently. - SECURITY ANALYST50M-1B USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source
Application Security Groups Strengthen Cloud Firewall Rules With Risk-Based Strategies
My experience with Microsoft Azure in terms of segmentation has been extremely positive. Azure allows users and administrators of enterprises to properly administer, organize and manage security policies in the form of segmentation of users and Network Security Groups, with additional capabilities such as Azure Virtual Network Manager. - IT SECURITY & RISK MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE50M-1B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
Azure Offers Broad Cloud Service Integration but Complex Pricing Structure Persists
Microsoft Azure is one of the leading cloud services among competitors. It is powerful and offers a vast suite of services that meet our business needs. Microsoft Azure made it easy for us to migrate our on-prem infrastructure to the Cloud as it integrates into the Microsoft ecosystem seamlessly. Having said that, cloud services are all about consumption, so make sure you have planned ahead as costs can sky rocket easily. - TECHNICAL MANAGER<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
A dependable cloud platform that simplifies operations & strengthens security
My experience with Azure has been exceptional due to its strong architecture, enterprise grade security, and high availability. The platform handles VM workloads very efficiently, and the native integration with tools like defender, Monitor & Entra ID adds great value. Azure's continuous enhancements & smooth automation workflows have significantly improved our cloud operations. - IT MANAGER<50M USDMiscellaneousReview Source
Powerful Hybrid Cloud Capabilities with Broad Service range
As a Global Administrator of my company, I finds Microsoft Azure highly reliable and scalable cloud platform with a wide range of services that support and provides infrastructure, data management, and application development. Its strong integration features with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID make it easier to access and identity management across multiple environments. The platform provides exceptional uptime, security compliance, and flexibility for hybrid as well as multi-cloud solutions.
