At present in our tool we are only supporting javascript. But with Camunda we got ourselves introduced to groovy, juel expressions, java and python which is super comfy and allign with the latest trending languages. The lessons provided in the camunda academy are well curated and explained. Moreover, the detailed documentation and the community forum support is very helpful and motivating for someone new to just step in and give it a try.
Agentic Orchestration, Connectoren, Kombination mit RPA und KI, possibility to implement end to end Processes
1. BPMN Process Modeling - Simplifies designing and maintaining complex worklfows, Visually appealing cockpit which shows clearly the order lifecycle even in complex multi tier parent-child order orchestration area. 2. Strong Automation 3. Real Time Monitoring 4. Easy HotFix Deployments with needing Restart. 5. Multiple Microservice offering which can be exposed to operations to be integrated with custom reporting UI for further reporting.
The major issue that we faced was debugging the flows. Another major challenge that I see is now migrating the flows from version 7 to 8. I can see that tools and documentation are provided that can assist us well but still since there are major differences between both the versions a lot of analysis will be required.
not very well prepared, documented for Camunda 8
1. Realtime compilation is missing in BPMN modeler unlike other like Eclipse or Intellij, Groovy script compilation issues are only caught when deployed or in case of our project we had CICD pipelines and small compilation mistakes were only caught during Pipeline runtime which was not easy to manage. 2. Performance Tuning needs a centralized documentation or demo material to help in tuning Camunda based application. The Camunda Community has good solution but a centralized combined view is missing and it took us many iterations of orders as well as many discussions on various forum to reach an appropriately tuned application. 3. Designing and maintaining complex big processes isnt easy. Workflow modeler can be better in that sense with more added tools to easily create flows.

Order Management in Telecom Sector Enhanced by Real Time Monitoring Capabilities
I have been working on this tool for the last 5 years. In this timeframe I have supported 3 projects, 2 were greenfield and 1 was a migration project where we migrated the flows to Camunda. It is super easy to design flows in the modeler plus the DMN is a savier where complex rules can be defined and we have multiple options on how to receive the output just by changing the hit policy alone. We have come across situations where during migration we were skeptical if our processes in camunda would work as expected. In such times we reached out to the forum and I must say the responses were quick, helpful and very insightful. The only major issue we faced with camunda 7 was with debugging, which is a pain especially if getting it during production. I believe this was already addressed in their version 8. I am keenly waiting to start working on camunda8 and explore how agaentic orchstration can help in our existing work flows. - Technical Lead10B+ USDTelecommunicationReview Source
Efficient Process Automation With Camunda Despite Intuitive UI and Compilation Limitations
My overall experience with Camunda as the workflow engine for our Order Manager suite has been quite positive, I found the product to be highly flexible and BPMN based, making it adaptable to our complex telecom order to activation workflows while enabling strong automation and transparency throughout our processes. Integration with other 3PP systems as part of robust workflow is also easier with Java delegates and Delegate expressions and with Spring framework's matured Error handling Jeopardy management and fallout are very easy to handle. Real-time cockpit enabled quick tracking of the order lifecycle and quick addressing of issues. The learning curve in the beginning is a little steep and the user interface could be more intuitive, but these challenges were manageable and outweighed by Camunda's robust orchestration capabilities and reliability in handling E2E order fulfillment. What could have been better is UI for Jeopardy management, i.e. fallout user tasks in telecom workflows usually need a robust way to customize and create a user interface which can be used to update order data in case of any Jeopardy or fallout of any external integration and options to Retry/Skip or cancel order but i felt Camunda UI wasn't upto the mark on this. Also incident management sometimes rollback the activities back to last save point which has issues in operations, including the async continuations is usually not recommended due to performance hit but its a major compromise. - Process Orchestration Developer1B-10B USDEnergy and UtilitiesReview Source
A strong BPMN Process Orchestrator that is not yet excellent in platform governance
The platform really excels in connecting the already standard and widely adopted BPMN 2.0 standard with the technology capabilities of today and tomorrow to create readable, efficient and compliant business processes. It is less developed in the area of platform governance still (as SaaS architecture). There is no out of the box way to enforce policies or communicate centrally to users of the platform within the organization. This creates extra effort for maintainers of the platform in enterprise organizations to develop these capabilities to comply with organization policies. - SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER1B-10B USDBankingReview Source
Camunda Powers Enterprise-Grade Workflows by Spring Boot Integration and REST API
my overall experince with camunda has been positive. the platform delivers an enterprise grade bpm engine. the engine covers core bpmn and dmn standards and has a native java api and spring boot starters to accelerate the development cycles. the performance was solid. it can handle high transaction volumes with minimal latency. also, cockpit is a great application for real time monitoring with the engine. that all was what worked well part. for what didn't work much is that initial setup requires careful database and engine configuration, can be error prone for newcomers. and, some advanced bpmn constructs (event subscription, for example) have limited examples in the official documentation. plus, version upgrades sometimes introduce breaking changes, it might be challenging... - PRODUCT MANAGER10B+ USDIT ServicesReview Source
Camunda Offers Strong BPMN Features and Support with High Flexibility and Scalability
There are many BPM (Business Process Management) software and platforms with similar concepts and features in the market. So it was not easy to find the right one that met our standards and requirements. Camunda has a good reputation from a wide user base and we could also agree with these opinions with a short test time. They provide various features and APIs with a strong flexibility to fit complicated tasks and environments.
