- Complete BPMN2.0 support: We have BPMN2.0 as the standard in our organization. - With Camunda you don't just consume a product, you consume thought leadership. We had a session on operating models, how to set up the engine and the architecture to get the biggest operational value out of it. Using C8 (or migrating to C8) made us rethink how we approach process automation. We focus more and more on the orchestration part. On having the process at core and using what the product delivers to automate or connect everything that has a part in the process - New innovative products and their compatibility with what we've built. We have built most of our processes with the external task pattern. This makes is really easy to adapt to Camunda's new features like IDP, connectors, RPA and even intelligent solutions. And this is something we really like. Camunda develops further and further, but still has a stable core - the engine. Just like how we develop our process landscape. Stable core, that allows us to try out new solutions. For example, exploring how a lightweight IDP can help with our inputmanagement. Without the overhead of trying out several tools/vendors - Camunda has made integration easy. C7 was already a strong product that allowed us to integrate our existing services and tools. C8 makes it even easier through their connectors. We have CRMs and standard solutions in place, and some existing workflows. It is satisfying to be able to integrate so easily - Optimize: We use Optimize heavily to improve our claim processes. We iterate on our processes every month and use Optimize to find bottle necks and ways to improve the process. In addition, our business uses Optimize to keep track of process performance and KPIs!

Strong Automation 3. Real Time Monitoring 4. Easy HotFix Deployments with needing Restart. 5. Multiple Microservice offering which can be exposed to operations to be integrated with custom reporting UI for further reporting.

It took C8 a while to become mature. This process could have been smoother as migration evaluation was quite expensive. Migration is still a challenge but we are positive that 8.8. or 8.9 will solve this

Realtime compilation is missing in BPMN modeler unlike other like Eclipse or Intellij, Groovy script compilation issues are only caught when deployed or in case of our project we had CICD pipelines and small compilation mistakes were only caught during Pipeline runtime which was not easy to manage. 2. Performance Tuning needs a centralized documentation or demo material to help in tuning Camunda based application. The Camunda Community has good solution but a centralized combined view is missing and it took us many iterations of orders as well as many discussions on various forum to reach an appropriately tuned application. 3. Designing and maintaining complex big processes isnt easy. Workflow modeler can be better in that sense with more added tools to easily create flows.

We've been a customer for many years - now transitioning to C8. Camunda has always been a super stable product that solved our problems. With C8 now in place we are using the momentum to rethink our architecture and build a centralized automation platform. What we value the most is the stable and performing engine as well as the BPMN standard that allows us to have business model their processes in the same language we use to implement them into our IT stack. We use Camunda for Decision Handling as well and our claim processing benefits a lot from it. Efficient Process Automation With Camunda Despite Intuitive UI and Compilation Limitations
My overall experience with Camunda as the workflow engine for our Order Manager suite has been quite positive, I found the product to be highly flexible and BPMN based, making it adaptable to our complex telecom order to activation workflows while enabling strong automation and transparency throughout our processes. Integration with other 3PP systems as part of robust workflow is also easier with Java delegates and Delegate expressions and with Spring framework's matured Error handling Jeopardy management and fallout are very easy to handle. Real-time cockpit enabled quick tracking of the order lifecycle and quick addressing of issues. The learning curve in the beginning is a little steep and the user interface could be more intuitive, but these challenges were manageable and outweighed by Camunda's robust orchestration capabilities and reliability in handling E2E order fulfillment. What could have been better is UI for Jeopardy management, i.e. fallout user tasks in telecom workflows usually need a robust way to customize and create a user interface which can be used to update order data in case of any Jeopardy or fallout of any external integration and options to Retry/Skip or cancel order but i felt Camunda UI wasn't upto the mark on this. my overall experince with camunda has been positive. the platform delivers an enterprise grade bpm engine. the engine covers core bpmn and dmn standards and has a native java api and spring boot starters to accelerate the development cycles. the performance was solid. it can handle high transaction volumes with minimal latency. also, cockpit is a great application for real time monitoring with the engine. that all was what worked well part. for what didn't work much is that initial setup requires careful database and engine configuration, can be error prone for newcomers. and, some advanced bpmn constructs (event subscription, for example) have limited examples in the official documentation. plus, version upgrades sometimes introduce breaking changes, it might be challenging... - BUSINESS ANALYST1B-10B USDBankingReview Source
