You don't need to pay to make games on this engine but if you are done testing it and building your game you need to pay a single lifetime fee in order to publish your creations, that's convenient.

Construct 3 offers a great starting point for creating your own little and not so little 2D games. It offers a friendly user interface and you don't need to write any code at all since it offers a pretty polished visual scripting system using blocks.
