Service is very good in Ctera . Ctera - can be reached anytime for any major or normal issues that occur in production issues. The issues will be sorted out as expected. The Ctera portal server and Edge filer appliances are very good to use for faster file syncing across globally .

Not exactly designed to function as a traditional NAS. Much more overhead is required to support a large number of shares (500) on the gateways.

We use Ctera platform as our storage for Non strucutured data - archiving reposoritory. This is not our first tier for sharing data to all our users. We use the NAS protocols: CIFS and NFS. The platform behavior is great and is easy to use as everything is done over the web-based portal. For filers, it requires more work for sync tool and HA solutions.
