Cumulocity Platform

We selected Cumulocity to modernize how we connect and manage our industrial robot controllers, moving from a legacy internal solution to a scalable, production-ready IoT Platform. The platform will give us a solid foundation to be able to deliver data driven services and proactive insights to our customers. The platform application with its user interfaces looks great and very stable, but the default views requires quite some technical insights in data models. So for the non-expert users we have needed to create some custom views/applications with microservices to provide our user with more simplified views. But with Cumulocity help and the possibility of running custom applications and microservices on the platform we have been able to add and implement what we wanted to have. The support from the Cumulocity has been good so far and we have felt that their are listening to us.

The default platform applications with their user interfaces looks great, functional and stable, but requires some quite technical knowledge in the data models. So for the non-expert users we have needed to create more custom views/applications to simplify it for the users, more than we thought we would need to. But with Cumulocity help and the platform capabilities of running applications and microservices have been able to implement want we needed, though with some additional effort than initially planned.

Cumulocity has shown itself to be an excellent tool for modern business evolution. It is more than just software but an agile gateway to provide new business models like "equipment as a service". By connecting their products, companies can stop chasing one-time capital sales and start selling predictable, high margin outcome-based services. As a partner in this transformation, Cumulocity is a reliable and customer-focused organization which has consistently and regularly augmented its product capabilities to satisfy customer needs, is very market aware and has an excellent customer support service.

- excellent Project Teams in the beginning of our relationsship to implemnt our products into Cumulocity. In getting rid of obstacles, changing and adjusting quickly of necessary features or adding new features and this so always with long term thinking! - this excellence continued also after migration got completted successfully over the globe. Support given is indeed exceptional to this very day. I do not want to compare and cannot disclose other companies here though. But from a couple of years experience I can tell. - Cumulocity has grown into a major pillar of our device management. - Cumulocity is up to its tasks, enabling us to perform worldwide operations in a very - very quick manner. I am not a sales person nor from finance, but it safes a lot money. - the vendor Software AG is also supporting very well on the continuous improvement of our needs with adding new features into Cumulocity throughout the versions they deliver. Its also a give and take, C8Y benefits from our use cases for others most likely as well. - the term exceptional may be inflationary used, but if I may emphesize the development teams of R&D in SAG, the service managers, operations and also in cases of unexpected issues, their solution management is truely exceptional.

Cumulocity has been an excellent platform for our IoT initiatives. As an electronics component manufacturer, we use it across several areas including fleet management, energy management, and other concrete value-added services built on top of our own hardware. The platform's breadth of capabilities has allowed us to consolidate multiple use cases on a single system, which has been a real operational advantage.
