Deepwatch Managed Detection and Response Services Likes & Dislikes

Like

1. Deepwatch functions as my SOC. I am not required to do much until an incident is escalated. Their dedicated squad knows our environment well. As with any new SOC/MDR service, we spent time together learning the environment and fine-tuning detections. We have a great working cadence at this point in time 2. Our Detection and Splunk engineers have been exceptional, along with our new Vulnerability Management engineer. I have full confidence they can address any request or challenge I present to them. 3. Communication - we have an open Slack channel which I love. I don't need to submit a ticket and wait for someone to respond based on an SLA. I regularly post my initial thoughts in Slack, which are discussed, and eventually turned into a formal ticket request to implement. 4. Since I am the only full-time security resource, having Deepwatch handle VM and MDR is like having several full-time staff members at my disposal, covering 2 very important functions. We have elevated our maturity in both areas thanks to Deepwatch. 5. With Deepwatch I am able to build custom detections for use cases and applications unique to our company. When I evaluated a few vendors, Deepwatch was the only one to commit to building custom detections.

As someone who serves as the InfoSec Director, architect, engineer, and analyst - supported only by two IT engineers - I needed an MDR partner that could extend my capabilities without expanding internal headcount. Deepwatch has become a key service in how I deliver enterprise-level security with a lean team. I've had 3 Customer Success Managers in the 1.5 years of using Deepwatch which has impacted continuity. I have a request that has been bounced from one CSM to the next. However, a discussion with my most recent CSM provided transparency into why this request has yet to be fulfilled. This kind of transparency should be a default practice of all CSM's at Deepwatch.
