it provides pretty much exactly the flexible solutions needed to bridge the gap between our HR core system and the needs to provide efficient HR Service processes. Very friendly and service & customer minded engineers and management

1) Multi-System Integration - With ESCRIBA EIS, we are able to connect to multiple backends simultaneously, including leading HCM and satellite systems. 2) Compliance & Risk Assurance - Managing compliance-conformity for all generated documents was and is a crucial requirement for us. Having the ability to update not multiple templates but the respective text blocks and rule sets reduces legal exposure and operational risk.
The service/development organisation is understaffed. Testing/validation processes have been painfull and not sufficiently reliable. More like a start up. In the begining it was said that the product has already most solutions available. Later on we discovered that most of those still had to be developed. Sometimes it was difficult to see where obvious missunderstandings came from - our lack of ability to clearly discribe the needs or ESCRIBAs lighthearted overpromising. We stepped into many traps we think we could have avoided if ESCRIBA would have told us. It was unclear if their 'not-telling' was unprofessional or they just didn't know better. Sometimes we thought we were their first customer with this issue/request. We were given the impression, that the product, the companies processes and the service organisation was much more mature than it actually was.
I can't think of anything I truly dislike. When I started with ESCRIBA a few years back, it was my first experience with this type of tool or programming in general. And even without prior knowledge, I was able to quickly learn the tasks and build documents. The service has always been outstanding, so no complaints on that part either.
Success requires upfront analysis and planning. The granular configuration capabilities mean you need to think through desired outcomes in advance. There are no delivered best practices or templates to accelerate initial setup - you are truly starting from scratch.
