I mostly like the channel function to spread information.
Easy integration, direct exchange with provider
What we like most about the app is its simplicity and intuitive design - both for employees and administrators. The app provides many great features to strengthen internal communication. The setup is similar to well-known social media platforms, making it very easy for employees to use. We especially value the different channels, where staff can join voluntarily to share and exchange ideas, as well as the chat function, which allows us to communicate in a data-protection-comploant way.
- Installation process is a little bit complicated for employees that are not so tech savy - Our IT department says the connection to the user management is not secure enough to be used for our case, since we work in the health sector. This means we have to create and delete every user by hand - In earlier versions we could customize the app logo to our company logo. This not possible anymore. It's now always the flip logo. - It would be great to also have a document management system with user permissions and review procedures
The Communication of updates, further developments and gerneral information from the provider is sometimes problematic. In some cases, the focus is no longer primarily on blue color worker but on desktop applications
1. The app is a bit of an investment, but the value it brings to our internal communication makes it worthwhile. 2. Suggestions for improvements sometimes take a while to be implemented, but the quality of the updates is always very high. 3. The app logo and name cannot be customized yet if we prefer the app not to appear in the app store, but this is only a minor limitation in an otherwise excellent solution.

From my perspective, the app is a good alternative to the purple industry standard for companies that don't want to spend as much on licenses. We mainly use the chat and channel function as well as the site function. The chat works very well and has received numerous new features in the last couple of years. It offers all the functions you expect from an up-to-date messenger. The channel function is a great tool to spread news. And lastly, the sites function helps to organize information. There are many more functions the flip app offers (calendar, tasks, integration of other tools as well as just recently added AI functions like chat based workflows and knowledge base search similar to the popular LLMs. I wish, though, there would be better video call functionality in the app as well as automated replies in chats as a way of absence assistance and the function to forward messages to other people.
