Glean has very strong relevance and ranking capabilities across the different sources of truth that we allow it to have access to. Glean can understand what I'm asking and also has the full picture of how it is relevant. This is its strongest asset, and is a game-changer when trying to spin-up a tool or assistant. Its strength also lies in its ability to be tuned and customized without requiring the platform team to step-in; this is a big time saver and another step towards improved efficiency.
It's how well it eliminates the daily frustration of hunting for information across a dozen disconnected tools. AI powered search is smart, understands context, respects existing access permissions, and gets better the longer you use it as it learns from usage patterns. Connecting it across 10 enterprise apps means virtually nothing falls through the cracks, whether its buried in a policy document or an old Teams chat. For a knowledge-heavy teams, its hard to overstate how much time it saves just by making information findable.
- Core feature: unified search across tools - I read somewhere that it supports more than 100 connected sources, just amazing - Smart search with AI Powered - very clean and user friendly UI - user only see what they are permitted to access (one of the great feature)
Like most new products, the learning curve was a bit steep. The depth of the UI was overwhelming at first, which caused some downtime of trial and error, but the onboarding sessions provided by their AI outcomes manager were superb in answering many of my questions. Since it is such a powerful tool, some of the ways that it works is difficult to understand, and without a thorough understand of its decision-making, I was, at times, left confounded about what was actually happening.
Biggest frustration is that it's great at finding information but stops short of actually doing anything with it - there's no real, powerful end-to-end workflow automation, so you still have to act on what it surfaces yourself. Setup is also a significant undertaking; connecting everything and maintaining it puts real strain on internal resources. Finally, if your organization is not ready from a data standpoint, it will be hard to accomplish any real meaningful integration. Structure is key.
- no public pricing is available - Since it is AI powered, the source data should be structured - Limited customization
