As it's a PaloAlto solution, it's tightly integrated with the PaloAlto/PAN environment. Central management with our existing Panorama and user ID agent is great. High availability in terms of central management is a plus. We also have an ESA that's covering the whole PAN environment, and we're getting great support from the PAN team. Again from a management perspective we can utilize Strata Cloud Management or Panorama for management. Therefore it provides us flexibility for the projects throughout the world.
The only good part of this service is its uncomplicated methods for deployment and stopping. If you are on Windows, all that you have to do is click a button on the taskbar and it will start momentarily. On Mac and Linux, it starts as a system service that can be stopped or started as needed.
- Strong intégratin with palo Alto netwokrs security platform, allowing centraliszed policy management and consistent security controls for remote users - Reliable and stable client experience across different operating systems , which helps provide secure remote access with minimal disruption for end users - Good visibility and control over user connections and traffic, enabling security teams to monitor activity and enforce secuirty policies effectively
Version management as we are stuck on the Global Protect agent 6.2.x version. There are other newer releases, however they're not recommended. I don't believe that the new versions will be recommended soon. The agent is just a vpn connectivity agent. Other vendors and solutions serve or bundle with additional features like data security, endpoint security agent, extended DEX etc. Adem is somewhat interesting, it's a fully cloud based solution. Even though it's a cloud-based solution with AI included, it lacks in triage. I don't get the full details of what's going on in the client device. Problems related to mobile endpoints cannot be analyzed thoroughly. There's no way to get a clean tirage from the mobile devices.
There are lots of things to dislike about this software. First off, GlobalProtect often refused to start on certain devices and started slowly on others. It remained consistently slow across most of the devices and sometimes stopped working when I was in the middle of an operation. There were also many cases where the software on a Windows and Mac system said that it was connected but was, in reality, not connected in the way that it needed to be. Upon verifying, its configuration was correct and it should have worked but did not.
- Troubleshooting connectivity issues can sometismes be complex and may require detailed analysis on both the client and firewall side - Some configuration aspects require a dgood undestanding of the palo alto ecosystem, which can create a learning curve for new administrators - client updates an version management could be simplified to make large-scale deployments easier to manage

Legacy Solution Provides Stability but Falls Short on AI and Modern Features
I have selected this product during the Covid times. We don't have any other alternatives due to logistics. The product is simple and easy to maintain. However, it is lacking in terms of SaaS deployments and AI innovation. In short, it's a legacy product and solution that is doing what it was intended to do. We have been using the solution for more than 20K users, 7x24 days without any issue. It's a vital solution in our agile financial environment. - Forensic Analyst<50M USDIT ServicesReview Source
GlobalProtect VPN: A VPN That Suffers From Terrible Usage and Reliability Issues.
GlobalProtect VPN seemed like a good VPN option at first, but ended up being a bad mistake. Its lifecycle in the organization began alright but turned bad in the end. It quickly dropped its reliability and switched to being unreliable. Unreliability was not only in active connection, but also in starting. It often lagged in starting or outright refused to start on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems. - Manager, It Security And Risk Management1B-10B USDServices (non-Government)Review Source
