Product Information on Google Cloud Platform

Updated 13th October 2025

What is Google Cloud Platform?

Google Cloud Platform is a software that offers a suite of cloud computing services, including infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and serverless computing environments. It provides tools for computing, storage, networking, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The software supports the deployment and scaling of applications and services on a highly available and secure global infrastructure. It enables organizations to manage workloads, develop and run applications, and analyze large volumes of data to address business challenges such as resource optimization, faster time-to-market, and scalability for enterprise and developer needs.

Google Cloud Platform Pricing

Google Cloud Platform software uses a pay-as-you-go pricing model based on actual resource usage, including compute, storage, and networking. The software provides options for on-demand and committed use contracts, allowing for flexibility in billing according to usage and commitment levels. Pricing varies by individual service and region and is calculated per-second or per-hour, depending on the specific service selected.

“Secret Management and File Handling Improved With Google Cloud and UiPath Integration”

Mar 2, 2026
Honestly, as an RPA Developer, using Google Cloud with UiPath has been a total game changer for my workflows, even if the initial setup felt a bit like a maze. Connecting to the Google Cloud buckets is super smooth once you get the service account permissions right—it beats manually moving files around any day. And honestly, having the Secret Manager integrated is a massive relief because I don't have to worry about hardcoding sensitive stuff or messing with local config files that everyone ends up seeing. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve with the APIs and making sure the authentication doesnt time out mid-process, but once its running, it's rock solid.

What Your Peers Are Saying About Google Cloud Platform

VP, IT Infrastructure
I am curious if anyone has recommendations for an objective third party to provide an external evaluation of GCP environments from a Fin Ops/Cost Optimization perspective. Many suppliers in the space selling reporting toolsets or serving as VARs but am interested in finding an independent third party.
Director of IT
I have conducted my own investigation and analysis using native cloud platform tooling, applying the Technology Business Management (TBM) taxonomy, and LeanIX, to help understand cloud costs. Apptio is another product I was looking at as well to help improve cloud costs. Apptio is easily integrated with LeanIX. https://www.apptio.com/products/ibm-apptio/ https://www.leanix.net/en/enterprise-architecture/integrations#apptio Cloudability is AppTio’s FinOps certified platform to enable cloud cost optimization efforts: https://www.apptio.com/products/cloudability/ My opinion is that I don’t trust independent third-party’s (consultants) to take an unbiased approach nor even have an effective diligent approach. I have had average to poor experiences with third-party’s that management in my previous organization brought in to conduct an investigation. Given good tooling and a decent budget I think you are better off creating your own cloud centre of excellence that follows best practices for workload cost management and optimization. Lastly, I read the recent post from Curt Hodge on that question, he is recommending PointFive. I had a look at PointFive’s website information and I would agree with Curt’s recommendation to take a closer look at the PointFive solution https://www.pointfive.co/ however at first glance they seem to be AWS focused and there is no mention of GCP integration.

We have a Vertex AI environment and we plan to apportion the consumption costs use case wise that are on onboarded on to a project. Currently Google Cloud provides option to extract data for billing at Project level only and we can get details below project level. Hence trying to check if there is a option/configurations to be made to assign costs at use case wise that are onboarded with in a project.

Powerful scalability and smooth performance offset by steep learning curve

    5.0

Google Cloud Platform is a very strong platform of cloud computing that offers powerful scalability, infrastructure, modern cloud services and AI capabilities for companies of all sizes. Companies that mainly focus on machine learning, data analytics and cloud native applications are the biggest users of Google Cloud Platform. With network infrastructure and data centres spread worldwide across multiple regions, the Google Cloud Platform has perfect global coverage. Google Cloud also provides very powerful identity management tools to the users. The main administrators can control and decide the level of permission users have while accessing the files. Administrators can restrict access and apply additional authentication steps to ensure the safety of sensitive resources. Google Cloud Platform also offers solutions to the recovery of files in case of any disaster or deletion of files with its backup management feature.

GCP Simplifies Small Application Hosting But Interface Can Be Challenging

    4.0
    Feb 26, 2026
Overall, our experience with GCP has been positive for targeted workloads like server-side tagging and API integrations. It's a flexible platform that makes it relatively straightforward to host lightweight services without needing to manage infrastructure directly. It feels reliable and integrates naturally with the wider Google ecosystem, which is a big advantage for marketing and analytics use cases. That said, the platform can feel slightly uneven in places, particularly in the interface and navigation, which sometimes makes simple tasks harder than they need to be.

GCP offers a rich, reliable and efficient range of services, although some aspects could still be improved.

Having used GCP for four years now, we've been pleasantly surprised by the platform's evolution over time. The initial delays and shortcomings have largely been addressed, to the point that the offering can now seriously compete with its direct rivals. Overall, the platform remains well-organized and manages to maintain smooth navigation in most use cases, despite the large number of available services. In terms of performance, it's worth noting that service disruptions remain rare.

"Scalable, Developer-Friendly Cloud Platforms with strong Data & AI Capabilities"

    4.0
    Mar 2, 2026
We have been using Google cloud platform to run production-grade applications and backend services at scale. Overall, the platform has been reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly. Deployment speed, managed services, and integration with modern tooling worked very well for our use case. However, cost predictability and billing transparency can sometimes be challenging, especially during rapid scaling. Support response quality varies depending on the plant tier. That said, for high-growth environments and modern architectures, GCP has delivered strong performance and flexibility.

1. Integration with secret manager in rpa means I never have to worry about passwords in plain text... It's basically the gold standard for keeping your bots compliant without making your life difficult. 2. GCP Buckets are way more reliable than local folders or mapped drives. Yole production run.ou can dump millions of files in there and the bot won't even blink, plus the versioning on files has saved my skin more than once. 3. Since you're already in GCP, it's super easy to plug in other cool stuff like Google Vision or Vertex AI to make your bots smarter without having to jump through a million hoops.

One of the best features of Google Cloud Platform which I like the most is its fast processing. All the websites, applications, databases and other AI workloads run smoothly on the platform because of Google Cloud's strong networking performance and its powerful computing resources. Another feature of Google Cloud which I like is its flexible scalability, companies do not need to buy the hardware with high prices in advance. Google cloud gives authority to the business to increase or decrease the resources according to the actual need. Companies can scale cloud services based on actual demand. Another excellent feature of Google Cloud Platform is its metered billing, which means companies only need to pay the price of the resources they use. It safe users to pay the extra payment for the resources which they do not need.

Dislike

1.Setting up the Service Account permissions and JSON keys can be a total nightmare the first time. If you miss one tiny IAM role the whole thing just throws a cryptic error that takes forever to debug. 2. Sometimes the UiPath.GSuite.Activities pack can be a bit buggy. Ive seen Studio freeze up or activities just stop seeing the bucket names for no reason until you restart the whole app... I had to make my own costume libraries to avoid this issue 3. If you're dealing with massive files, the connection can sometimes drop mid-transfer. You have to build in a lot of Retry logic to make sure a 2-second lag doesn't kill your whole production run.

Dislike

its not that easy to deploy an ADK agent on agent engine which is ALSO A2A Compatible - currently thyas almost inpossible

Dislike

One of the downsides of Google Cloud Platform is that it provides many advanced services and for using it the users need technical knowledge. Because of that, beginners might find the Google Cloud difficult to understand at the start and need training before using it. Another downside of Google Cloud is that in case of any mishap, getting the premium technical support from Google may cost extra. Because of this, many small companies feel that it is too expensive for their budget to use advanced support options. Another point which I think is a downside is that while using Google Cloud Platform everything depends on the cloud access, a stable internet speed is compulsory. Poor connectivity can slow down the whole cloud operations and all workflows.
