HCL provides support services (Service Desk, Onsite Support, device rollouts) for my team and end-users. While contract verbiage is of course important, HCL values the relationship more and works with us when there is confusion or different interpretations of what is included in the service.
They are responsive and adept at addressing immediate customer issues.
The Follow the Sun support has been beneficial, providing assistance at all hours. The software packaging process has been efficient and precise, greatly benefiting our operations. Lastly, the Service Desk support levels and user experience levels have been top-notch, with the team being responsive, helpful, and friendly.
Resource turnover, but this is not unique to HCL nor to this contract. It is an unfortunate by-product of outsourcing and constantly trying to drive down costs. They also struggle to deliver innovation, but there are other factors involved there (including our conservative business).
EUS, EUC, forward thinking and change management are areas of service delivery that have opportunities for improvement.
One aspect of our service that I find a bit challenging is the need for our internal teams to frequently lead the vendor in response to technical issues. While I understand that collaboration and guidance are part of our roles, I believe this practice can sometimes place an undue burden on our teams. It would be more efficient and beneficial if the vendors could take more initiative in addressing and resolving these technical issues.
