I believe HireRight to be a very thorough and comprehensive tool. They offer a solid variety of background checks that you might require, where you can also create packages that meet your needs, may it be for a specific occupational field (i.e. finance or law), or by region/country. It's a service that ensures we are doing our due diligence and keeps us compliant with best practices.

The best is how i can track everything in one place without chasing people for updates.

Like

HireRight offers quite a comprehensive screening service. We are a very global company and we've been able to tailor our screening packages to specific countries and occupations, which meets are different business needs. Fortunately, the tool integrates well with our Applicant Tracking System, Lever, which can save time and automate some of the admin tasks of requesting a new screen for a candidate. Although I don't have first-hand experience, our candidates have provided us feedback that they they felt supported by HireRight, receiving clear and structured requests from them, and providing support when needed.

Like

The ease of use is a big plus as it makes less time walking people through the program.

Dislike

Sometimes i feel like the system gives updates in its own mood. You log in expecting answers, but it feels like it wants you to come back later. A bit more real time clarity would help.

Dislike

As a user of the product, my biggest complaint is the customer service they provide. When we've encountered issues, especially more technical ones such as an integration, we often can have days pass with no response, with our customer success manager not truly understanding the issue, and not coming to a resolution. HireRight does a great job of taking notes and making sure they track any action taken. However, this can sometimes create a long list of logs which can become confusing to navigate, making the platform feel cumbersome. I've also encountered times where, when reviewing their notes, it feels that they fail to verify easily confirmable information. When we need to review completed reports, we have to check every discrepancy, review documentation and get in touch with candidates again. This gives a sense that we are essentially doing the job of the service we're paying for.

Dislike

The only thing to dislike is when the program is under maintenance and there is a wait to get in.

    Minimizing Recruitment Hassles with User-Friendly Background Check Program

    This is one of the better background check programs out there. There are few issues with downtime and the results are usually turned around rather quickly. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate for employees and employers.

    Highly Manual for Prior Employers - Please Avoid

    Please consider how this offering impacts the recipients of the employment verifications. The way that this system works is that it sends the prior companies an email with a html file attachment that they are supposed to somehow download into a pdf, edit and reformat, and then send back as an insecure attachment. The lack of automation and security is really surprising and all of the hoops they make prior employers jump through is quite a waste of time. We do it because I want to see our former employees succeed, but otherwise this is a terrible process. You could hire an internal admin to do the same thing and probably get better results.
