Maintaining and managing data efficiently is a big deal and the software helps a lot to do so. Since the competition is tight considering Google and others, tool is getting better day by day.

Working with Watson Knowledge Catalog: Extremely poor UI makes it very difficult to populate the catalog ramp up new users. Online documentation is poorly organized and written. Lack of training materials. Poor design of data management within the project leads to slow performance and the need for larger hardware (which makes for higher license costs.) Using the newest version 3.0.1 but still encountering unexplained errors that appear to be server-generated due to unstable interactions with the UI. Trying to overcome the many fundamental difficulties in order to actually benefit from the more advanced features that seem to be available in the tool - but it's hard slogging. Would not recommend this tool or the Cloud Pak for Data suite.
