IBM Content Navigator does provide universal interface as claimed by IBM, however it has been experienced that the way IBM releases the Fix packs for ICN is of low, degraded quality.
The common problem observed is that with the addition of every new feature, the existing working functionality are getting affected.
ICN 3.0.5 version had series of issues and same is the story with ICN 3.0.6 so far.
The new good features are:
1. Video viewer for more types of video files
2. Document Merge and Split functional for PDF and TIF
3. Role based security but the Entry Template does not work with the role based security
The new version impacted the following existing functionalities:
1. The 'Work' option disappears occasionally/randomly
2. The 'Save' button is grey out in the Virtual viewer properties tab
IBM claim that all the above features will be addressed in ICN 3.0.6 IP004 (Dec 2019)

Implementation and maintenance is easy, but products recent releases lack quality
It was very easy to implement and the maintenance is easy. Great user interface and clients find it very easy to use. But unfortunately the quality of the recent releases has decreased drastically, often causing basic functionalities to break. The frequent releases and updates have created a lot of strain on the testing because of the decrease in the confidence in the quality of the new fix packs and versions.
