Business-friendly modeling experience: Non-technical stakeholders can read and edit process maps without needing to learn complex notation, which keeps workshops fast and focused on the real work instead of the tool. Single source of truth for processes: Having one shared repository where processes, variants and ownership live makes audits, training and continuous improvement much easier than chasing multiple versions of the same diagram. Clear link between steps and responsibilites: Adding roles systems and handoffs directly into the flow helps highlight bottleneks and points of failure which is invaluable
It is easy to use and the shared feature (which users can edit in real-time) is very efficient. A central repository is a good tool and the revision history is a useful addition.
Excellent real-time collaboration features let teams work together on one document simultaneously. I like the pre-designed templates which make it easy to use for less techy people (like me!) It can also be accessed anywhere with an internet connection, meaning great for WFH employees and negates the need for local installations or IT infrastructure management. Works well with other IBM tools.
Interface can feel dated: While functional, the UI sometimes feels clunky compared to newer web apps and simple actions like rearranging elements or navigating large diagrams could be smoother Limited depts without other tools: For advanced simulation detailed metrics or direct automation you quickly feel the need to connect it with other IBM tools which adds complexity to tht overall stack
The reporting aspect could be better. Expensive for smaller environments. Largely dependent on the internet.
It's quite restrictive in the ability to customise process diagrams, reports and interface elements although that hasn't been a problem for me. Also, one of the things that was a real plus was that it can be used wherever there is an internet connection - absolutely fine for most but when you have some folks working in regions with poor connectivity, it becomes a problem as it does need to be connected all the time.
