We have tried inhouse solutions for achieveing S2S communication but the architecture was always resulting in security concerns hence we moved to hashicorp consul. Since it is cloud native solution it was easy to install and set up although documentation for set up and integration is a bit confusing and we had to wait for long to get in touch with customer srvice to resolve our issues. Overall a great tool to accomplish service mesh architecture within our products
