The ratings here are difficult to judge considering that my involvement and management of our relationship did not occur at the outset and heavy remediation was required to get to this level of strategic partnership and execution. It doesn't come out of the box and it doesn't come to the customer without work - but if you are willing to build the relationship and partner over time you will realize gains at reasonable costs without unreasonable paperwork. What does this mean? A mature engagement with Microland means not hearing the word 'no' very often when adopting new technologies that they don't traditionally work with and having an entity that can be a trusted advisor that can change as quickly as your company needs. But it doesn't come instantly or without work.

Unlike our previous and current telco based providers your account is able to pivot to support you without asking the 'mothership company' if they are allowed to support x and y technologies. Having a good relationship with your account manager is critical to success when leveraging Microland.

Like

The organisation's willingness to care and listen. The agility of the team to deliver the Managed Network service.

Like

Their flexibility and ability to listen and adapt to meet a resolution point is next to none. They are a real partnership focused organization, which is not only concerned about written lines but getting things done right in a way that will deliver the necessary outcome, in a way that works for both sides. For our organization, this is the key to success, even when challenges or complications arise.

Dislike

At times Microland Executive leadership can get the wild hair to 'get their fingers in the pie' of their account team which can be beneficial or negative depending on where the dice role. In general, it's far more favorable to work with your account manager as only they know truly what your account needs free of the bias of 'cio magazine articles' or the propensity to try and shift focus to industry hot topics such as 'AI' that in many entities are not a priority or topical.

No dislike, strength in depth to deliver the service.

Dislike

There is an excessive reliance on a relatively small number of individuals to drive the key issues in our joint agenda, which creates a bottle neck, unnecessary collateral work and delays in getting changes done.

    Overall experience with Microland is great, with some room to reach the top tier of provisioning. Their ability to transition and launch the service was absolutely spectacular and beyond expectations, however they had a bumpy operational start in some challenging areas they'd been given visibility of but still couldn't prepare in advance for it. After some steering and discussions, Microland was able to revert and trend generally back upwards but some of the challenges remain (although diminished in impact and frequency). It also feels that sometimes the mid to high management layer is overburdened, which demonstrates some deficiencies and dependencies in the organization but nothing massive at this point.

    The overall pursuit experience was very positive. They genuinely listened to what we needed and catered the solution accordingly. Initial delivery had some hiccups with one of the technical solutions, however they have shown great partnership in adjusting to change to a different technical solution. Their leadership listened to us, which was positive.
